Well thats that.
Money came thru into my Halifax Sharedealing account on 31st December 2019.
All I have to do now is redeploy the funds.
Many E&P Oilers look cheap, but has climate change fundamentally altered the outlook for these companies, over the next 10 or 20 years?

This statement from Starcrest has caused the drop.

But Eland says Scheme still on.

I don’t understand the move down today. Is the offer now in question?

Snagging issues, but ultimately more oil for Seplat.

Looks like a good deal for Seplat to me. And no doubt a new remuneration package for the management team. I have been a holder for many years and I believe this company has a lot more to offer. It is symptomatic of the market today that the best AIM companies get taken private denying early investors a proper return for the risk, whilst the rest of AIM either struggle on or fail. Sad news.

Is this a fair offer? Anyone a view on the price 166p?

Ok it's the usual 30% takeover premium to the low 120s price for the last few months. But the management were buying back shares in the low 120s (addmittedly not enough to shift the price). Presumably the management thought they were significantly undervalued in the low 120s.

Interim statement from June 2019 positive. A second oil field and the prospect of a first pure exploration well.

I have a small holding here. I thought I'd found a decently run outfit with some good prospects. I was hoping for a much higher share price than 166p a few years down the road. Now the chance is gone.

XxTrue, I should be grateful for that. Offsets some of my poor choices.

I'm a long time lurker and never post but thought I pass on this little anecdote - I've held Eland since 2016 and never traded any. Yesterday I sold 25% of my holding!!
How unbelievable is that!

Really please for the share holders of ELA. I have been in and out (mostly in) for s few years now with my original buys around the 50p mark and making lots of profits along the way. Although I missed out on this, I'm pleased for those that started put.

taken a small position here
cash generation, increasing production and maybe hopefully a dividend
They should really be increasing the share purchases as at the rate they are buying them it is pretty pointless
just means they issue an RNS each day
The board says the price is too low so why not start buying in bigger numbers
Any the total value of the buyback is only £6m
might as well have paid that as a dividend because the only companies that will do ok (as we go another financial crisis) are the ones that pay a sustainable dividend

Odd dynamics, positive reaction to a target price cut. The forecast price still attractive and possibly seen as more realistic?

Guidance is still on target and in range. This from the latest update RNS:

"All of the above can be financed from our current financial resources and is expected to result in a 2019 net exit rate of 17,000 to 19,000 bopd, with further production increases expected in to 2020. However due to the delays with the Rig and the EPF, the material increase in production is likely be more second-half weighted than originally forecast. We now anticipate full year 2019 net production of 12,000 to 13,500 bopd , an increase of 50% over 2018, underlining the ongoing progress being made."

2018 exit production rate of 13,240 bopd net to Elcrest (29,425 bopd gross), a record production rate for OML 40 and Eland. Peak record production of 13,986 bopd net to Elcrest (31,081 bopd gross)
