Posted at 15/10/2019 08:58 by shallwe Really please for the share holders of ELA. I have been in and out (mostly in) for s few years now with my original buys around the 50p mark and making lots of profits along the way. Although I missed out on this, I'm pleased for those that started put. |
Posted at 11/7/2019 06:46 by ntv taken a small position herecash generation, increasing production and maybe hopefully a dividend They should really be increasing the share purchases as at the rate they are buying them it is pretty pointless just means they issue an RNS each day The board says the price is too low so why not start buying in bigger numbers Any the total value of the buyback is only £6m might as well have paid that as a dividend because the only companies that will do ok (as we go another financial crisis) are the ones that pay a sustainable dividend |
Posted at 25/6/2019 06:56 by alotto Production increased substantially tho. Delays happen! No mention to dividend payouts though |

Posted at 20/2/2019 13:53 by shallwe I got dissed a year or so ago on the LSE board for daring to suggest that ELA may pay a dividend in the future. |
Posted at 05/1/2019 13:41 by podgyted The shares, on any parameter you want to use, seem to be extremely good value. The board has recently started a BB stating this reason. Therefore a TO is a reasonable possibility, although free float is only 60% in ELA rather than the 99% in Ophir - but everything has its price even the company you started and built up. I think that M&A in the medium to small arena will increase and we are already seeing evidence of this - why explore when you can buy cheap proven assets? On the downside ELA is a one trick pony geographically - however if someone wants to buy into/ increase in Nigeria it must look very attractive - not just for assets but the management team. I'm optimistic either way - takeover or grow and rerate. |
Posted at 29/11/2018 21:20 by mr.oz I missed this welcome news this evening. Click the link above to get the full info but.....29 November 2018 Eland Oil & Gas PLC ("Eland" or the "Company") Refinancing of Reserve-Based Lending Facility Eland Oil & Gas PLC (AIM: ELA), an oil & gas production and development company operating in West Africa with an initial focus on Nigeria, is pleased to announce the following update on its revised debt facility |
Posted at 20/11/2018 09:37 by shallwe Although a share buyback can help the SP, I'm not overly convinced that this does the job particularly well all the time.Surely it would have been better to issue a small dividend instead? That nearly always helps the share price which is what George wants to do. |
