"The inspector is visiting the site tomorrow morning. Final submissions will be at 3.30pm. He said he would not give his decision until after the general election in December." Why after the election? Surely it should be judged on the facts as they stand, no new laws will emerge, it sounds as if the inspector is hardly objective if his thinking can be swayed by the outcome of an election. Thanks for link, ohisay.

P1929 and P2304 Farm-out Exclusivity Agreement 4 November 2019 Egdon Resources plc (AIM:EDR) is pleased to provide an update on the farm-out process in relation to the Resolution and Endeavour gas discoveries in UK offshore The Company can announce that ERUK has signed an exclusivity agreement (the “AgreementR21;) in respect of Licence P1929 and P2304 with a large internationally recognised exploration and production company (the “Counterparty”). Exclusivity has been granted to the Counterparty subject to a definitive farm out agreement or other definitive legal agreement(s) being entered into by 19 January 2020 and completion occurring by 19 April 2020. Egdon has previously submitted a request to the Oil and Gas Authority (“OGA”) for an extension to P1929 and P2304 both of which otherwise expire at the end of November 2019 and are hopeful of receiving confirmation from the OGA in respect of these extensions in the near future.

Wressle now the major share price driver. Chance to double existing production if successful and with fracking on hold maybe planning consent on conventional plays will be easier to come by. Here's hoping anyway.

Selling overdone? They reckoned conventional assets were worth 12-13p/share at start of year. They've had better production so far this year than last and I would imagine better average price, Wressle probably better than 50/50 chance and a potential jv partner of substance to develop Resolution and Endeavour. June saw a 1.6m cash raise so that can't be pressing problem, it will be interesting to hear Abbott's 'in due course' review but overall even with the parlous fracking situation it doesn't seem all doom and gloom apart from the share price

Cynical election play. Ban it and the effing Beeb won't beat the govt with the fracking stick every bloody night.

Granted there’s political spin but underpinning it all is a review from the Oil & Gas Authority who I guess are now embarrassed by their support for U.K. onshore shale exploitation and have hoist a red light.

Fracking was never going to work commercially in the UK. Cameron was too thick to understand that in North America you have vast areas of uninhabited Moose Pasture to do this stuff, where the land owner got a share of the loot. That's why gas fell from $6 to $2 and energy became cheap and manufacturing could be brought back onshore.Of course the onshore players were happy to perpetuate the myth of lots of cheap gas with ludicrous volumes of gas in place...It means we'll need to keep importing more and more of our gas...decarbonise it at the beach and use the hydrogen to replace the methane and stuff the co2 in a hole in the ground....although I'm sure the yurt dwellers will oppose that too...preferring a "dung" based energy economy (not sure which animals it'll come from tho'.)

Typical politicians out to get votes. They encourage investment by companies to explore the possibility of extracting shale gas and now they are talking about stopping it. They encourage people to buy diesel cars and then turn round and try and put them off the road! Why can't we get politicians who have had a science based education who can make rational decisions based on facts and are not swayed by the latest fad. They are costing this country billions in their complete ineptitude.

So Johnson has now indicated they might ban fracking, don't know if it's a vote catcher attempt or not with Lab and Libdem already of that view but it's contrary to the noises they've made hitherto.
