Thanks for your post. In a small way this Planning Appeal is the result of this government not having a clear energy policy for the UK. In todays TIMES and TELEGRAPH Jim Radcliffe is telling what this government may not want to hear................get a policy or the lights will go out.................

No as planning appeals have a set time table and I am not sure what that is BUT not summer = May/June. I am in South Africa and if someone were to ring Mark Abbott he will tell you.

quite correct robs It is very difficult buying or selling any quantity in EDR unless there is a liquidity event like news. If the bisc news is good it should fly, but not so good and MM's will be savage.. IMHO a share to buy and hold with cash you can afford to tie up. perhaps next week we will get confirmation the wressle appeal has gone in, but according to recent interview with partner, that could be summer before heard.

Just in case anyone didn't know..from Egdon's website there are 260m shares in issue. As at October, 67% of those are held by just 6 investors: Petrichor Holdings Coperatif, U.A. 29.99% Premier Oil plc 15.08% Canaccord Genuity Group 10.41% Hargreaves Lansdown Asset Mgt 5.29% P Evershed and Clients 3.80% Mr Mark Abbott 3.11% So (at 33%) only 86m shares are 'freely' held and likely to be 'tradeable'. Egdon's website also says 'The total percentage of shares not in public hands is 58.59%'. So at 41% 'freely' held, that's 106m shares out there to buy/sell.. Either way, that's not a huge number of free shares. If/when there is good news (and assuming the existing 6 shareholders are in for the longer term and won't sell on short term news), this is really going to fly...IMHO :-) Of course, a few options might get exercised and added into the mix..

.....and the next will as well when its explained to them that when the lights go out and peoples bills will go through the roof that they will endorse a policy of getting the stuff out of the sea bed and the ground.

IGas has spudded the Springs Road -1 exploration well (IGas 32%, Egdon Resources 14.5%) in North Notts. Targeting the Bowland Shale it will reach a depth of c. 3,500 and complete in around 110 days. That takes us to the end of March 2019. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then Mr FardelsBear - the mob do not rule as legislation is all in place so the industry can carry on and develop and this government now realise that GAS is important to the UK economy. There is no question that gas is one of the most important energy ingridients if this country is to get its house in order..........EV for example will not do it and nor will wind and solar so if you want the lights to go out then support the new onshore gas/oil industry.

I doubt they'll get that past the howling nimbys. If May's Govt topples and Corbyn's distribution of free Haribo to all snowflakes produces the result he so clearly thinks he deserves; what price then for onshore oil and gas?

I read in todays TIMES newspaper that government advisors have said that the limit on earthquakes caused by fracking can saftly be raised because the risk of harm is "vanishingly small", Not earth shattering news for Egdon but good for the whole sector and very helpful if you are an investor.

Costly certainly! My point was that there has been radio silence over their expectations for this well. No indications at all publicly of what they are hoping for (at least that I can find)?

No No its to costly to "poke a hole and see what happens"........they all know and exchange info as they all want to make capital by getting the share price of their stocks up. Remember that over the past few years its not been an oil bonzana for the chiefs of this onshore industry.............so maybe 2019 is the sector to have a punt......

Springs Road could be very interesting. They have broadcast a potential 20TCF in the whole Gainsborough Trough area, but no numbers that I can find from anyone on what this particular well's 'expectations' are. I guess they have some internal ideas on it, but seems like it is very much a 'let's poke a hole and see what happens' for external expectations?
