Tanesco Update
Edenville Energy Plc (AIM: EDL), the AIM quoted company developing a coal project in southwest Tanzania, has today received a letter from Tanzania Electric Supply Company ("Tanesco") stating that following the Company's submission of the documentation for the Request for Qualification ("RFQ") for coal fired power generation projects in Tanzania, as set out in the Company's announcements of 22 October 2018, 2 November 2018, 8 November 2018 and 7 December 2018, the evaluation process of the submitted applications has been completed and that Edenville did not qualify in relation to the criteria set forth in the RFQ documents.
No reason has been provided by Tanesco for this decision and the Company is currently engaged in discussions with Tanesco to seek clarification as to the reasons behind this decision and to seek a way forward. Further announcements will be made as appropriate.
