I take on board what you have said
But i still feel there is a huge gap. Too many quiet periods and to me they are late on everything. I can see 2-3yrs of just the same
followed by another attempt to patch up the gaps that are still evident I want to see a strategy ,publicised, on how they are driving forward potential sales.

Just because they use Proactive Investors does not mean they are proactive .Where is the vigour and imagination I cannot see it. Neither can the potential end users. Now is the perfect time .
A rocket needs putting up there backsides if they dont get in people who can do that now. They need them in place now with more ideas. It will not wait to get the one or 2people in next year or the year after.

From the alliance AGENCY ICE-FederBio is born Ita.Bio, the first platform for the international development of Italian organic

The aim is to consolidate the positioning of Italian organic agri-food in foreign markets, through the identification of the basket of BIO Made in Italy products with greater potential and the development of e-commerce.

Bologna, 23 September 2020 –ICE – Agency for the Promotion Abroad and Internationalization of Italian Companies, and FederBio,the National Federation of Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture, renew the collaboration in the name of enhancing organic agri-food on international markets. At the heart of the agreement is the activation of the Ita.Bio platform, developed to increase the positioning of Italian organic on international markets and e-commerce channels.

The agreement provides for the promotion of market intelligence solutions aimed at consolidating the process of internationalization of the Italian organic agri-food chain. The partnership aims to offer scenario and competency analysis, support the definition of development policies based on information in the relevant markets, network with the community by sharing knowledge and support the interpretation of the challenges of the global competitive scenario.

The partnership between the two companies has led to the development of the Ita.Bioplatform, an innovative tool for the promotion of BIO Made in Italy on international channels, with particular reference to the USA and China, which aims to identify a basket of Italian organic products with greater potential for expansion at international level and suitable to be enhanced through e-commerce channels.

The Ita.Bio platform has 3 main features: Tracking & Market Measurement, Support for Promotion on International Markets and Communication. Through Tracking & Market Measurement it is possible to monitor the opportunities for organic development in relation to the following parameters: organic numbers, sales trends, consumption models, characteristics and consumer needs of organic products in the target markets, data related to the export of Italian organic and how to buy including the e-commerce channel.

A Business Survey for the Evaluation of Organic Export by Nomisma has been launched for data collection. The first results and a preview of the Survey will be presented in Bologna, at SANA Restart, as part of the Bio Revolution event.

The Ita.Bio Platform's "International Market Promotion Support" feature aims to create up-to-date and fast business intelligence tools to support the presence of the ICE Agency and its network's activity in foreign markets.

In addition, a "FederBio-ICE Desk" has been set up in the Rome office of the ICE Agency to consolidate the activities to support the promotion of organic on the main international markets.

Finally, a joint programme of promotional actions abroad, focused on China and the United States, is planned, with the organization of an institutional and corporate presence at the Ciofe trade shows in Xiamen (November 2020) and Summer Fancy Food in New York (June 2021). In addition, considering the global importance of Biofach, a presence is planned in support of Italian participation in the fair that will take place in Nuremberg in February 2021.

Below is my cut and paste of extracts from the RNS re the patent granted to Eden in Australia - I have excluded some words and had placed certain sections in bold, sadly that does not come through on ADVFN

Sortudo7 - you will note Brazil is included.

"Eden ….. announces that the patent behind its Sustaine® encapsulation technology has been granted in Australia; the first patent specifically covering the use of Sustaine with third party active ingredients to be granted anywhere in the world.
The patent is for "Encapsulation of High Potency Actives" allowing for the combination of Sustaine with a wide range of active ingredients from third parties. Sustaine microcapsules …. are one of the few viable alternatives to plastic-based microencapsulation technologies which are used widely in fertilisers, encapsulated plant protection products (PPPs), seed coatings, and biocides.
Eden has engaged in a number of projects around the world to test the compatibility of Sustaine with third party active ingredients in order to determine whether benefits such as formulation stability, improved efficacy, dose reduction or resistance management can be achieved. In January 2020, Eden announced an exclusive agreement with Corteva ……to evaluate formulations based upon Sustaine in certain major territories. The patent allows Eden to exploit opportunities of this kind in the Australian market with a patent protected position. ….. Patents are being pursued by Eden in a total of 27 key territories around the world, including the United States, Europe, China and Brazil."

I think the directors need to be more dynamic and show more flair with the investment community, but it is the job of the appointed distributors to sell product.

Eden's job with the distributors, as I see it, is to ensure the distributors have the right focus and resource behind Eden's products to be able to sell through successfully. If it becomes evident that this is not so, then it's a case of review the distributor and change if necessary.

Did you read my post?

It was a question not to be confused with 'saying sit back and blame their distributors' which is different.

Your saying sit back and blame their distributors. have you seen their lists of products? No your parent company has to push and to be seen by future users.

It’s a symbiotic relationship

Chrischas,
I'm guessing but wouldn't the dynamism you speak of be more important coming from Sipcam / Sumiagro ?

Congrats on the Spanish.

That was an interesting link to mildew.I am learning Spanish and could read it read without having to refer your précis in English !!!
On a more serious note though it begs quite a few questions.

Given Sipcams presentation of Araw :was there any increased uptake of Araw prior to the widespread development of localised mildew ?I would wonder if there was much feedback either way from Sipcam /Eden.
Given these approvals for Cedroz there must be some case for employing a European speaking ( Spanish/ Italian) agro biochemist for driving sales and upfront promotion now.Rather than playing 3-5 yrs catch up as was the case with the lab.
It is patently obvious that the 2 main men are not enough to drive this company so they should reign in their emoluments ,pay more competent staff to get out on the ground.Their emoluments should be rewarded better by a rewarding results based enumeration committee.
Are they going to keep missing the boat? The company has to be more strategic, and forward thinking. They have to be SEEN to be more dynamic, and on the ground rather than in their new ivory tower.
It’s obvious that next year if their is a hint of rain in Catalonia there will be a lot more preventative spraying. But this could equally apply in any geographical region.Eden needs to have someone reacting to this and to other future developments which they keep promising are just about to break out of the pipeline.

The paradox of Chhattisgarh’s summer paddy: high-yielding but water-intensive

..........................
YEAST CELL WALL PARTICLE ENCAPSULATION OF BIODEGRADABLE PRO-PAYLOADS

'Granules are a convenient application form for producers with small allotments such as paddy rice farmers, or for growers of turf where spays are complicated by the needs of near neighbors sensitive to drift or odor or for broad acre farmers who wish to apply fertilizers and herbicides together and who do not have convenient access to water.

The granules may be used in flooded paddies, recently irrigated turf, or in areas where it is inconvenient or impossible to remove irrigation water. The granules allow small holders the means to apply crop protection chemicals without expensive equipment, and without risk of exposing airways or eyes to aerosols or spray materials. Granules can be easily measured and distributed by hand. Using granules that are designed for uniform dispersal is advantageous because this compensates for uneven application'.

33Mick,

What you could assume from my posts is that I am pulling together threads of Eden's talk of 'Sustaine with third party active ingredients' (15 September 2020) and the two Rice consultants mentioned in 7722, along with the Payload Patent which refers to Paddy Fields and is 'focussed on the further development of this technology with the objective of creating a next-generation encapsulation system to help us solve a broader set of challenges for our partners'.

One of those Partners I'm assuming is Corteva who have a collaboration seed deal with Sumitomo inked in 2017, 3-4 years after Eden started working with Sumitomo related Sipcam and SumiAgro and later Valent Bioscience.

My mention of Rinskor pulls a Corteva Rice focused product into the mix who's green profile may be further enhanced by SustainE.

Some less generous souls may call my research 'over enthusiastic wishfull mystic meg crystal ball rubbing' but at least it's anchored in a lot of fully referenced research.

OH and I nearly forgot ....this fella... one of Corteva's 20000 employees.. not a wish full mystic meg.. just out of the blue.. randomly liked Eden's recent RNS linkedin post;

Siya Yadav Demand Generation Lead-Chhattisgarh at Corteva
Raipur, Chattisgarh, India.

Chhattisgarh: The Rice Bowl of India – Chhattisgarh is known as the ‘Rice Bowl of India’. It is the ‘State Known as The Rice Bowl’ in India. It is an answer and a beautiful description for the questions, 1. Which state is called the rice bowl of India? 2. Cropping pattern of Chhattisgarh 3. Why Chhattisgarh is called and known as the rice bowl of India ?

IMO..It's not a question of IF Unmentionable mentions RICE in an RNS it's a matter of WHEN.

super...just to be clear as I know you more than anyone would hate to have posters on here mislead or confused
by unintended over enthusiastic wishfull mystic meg crystal ball rubbing.....

Rinskor™ is a new weed control solution that helps you grow a better crop to be more profitable

from Corteva's web site..

"In 2018, Rinskor™ won Green Chemistry Challenge Award presented by the American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Institute and collected the AGROW Award for the best new crop protection product"

So a Corteva "solely" developed herbicide product...maybe? In development from when..2015, 2014?

Surely you're not implying this has any link to Edens SustaineE tech?
I grant you they used the word " Sustainable"...but it's a Word..

Yes Sean must be thumbing through his rolladexer of excuses worriedly trying to tick off all the ones he has used in the past 5 years to explain why so much promise and so little management delivery of anything approaching revenue or profit etc...Let’s not forget such classics as too hot, too cold, too wet, not wet enough, too humid not humid enough, can’t hurry the seasons, regulators understaffed, NDAs and a whole raft of other truly award winning excuses.

The new lab should help. All those PHDs and lab costs with new biro pens to hand out. That should explain to the dim witted PI’s why we are getting through recent cash which diluted everyone by about 40%. I wonder how long it will take to pay back for what that is costing. Given that wine and champagne makers seem to have oceans of product sitting about I am not expecting more than a pile of pennies from the various ventures that are running just now by Eden. Most likely there will be Covid excuses to rely on or brexit or the moon being full perhaps.

I think someone said if Eden found oil under the lab Sean would extract it with a coffee cup. I had thought thimble on a piece of thin thread but it did make me laugh and summed up Eden perfectly. Still you can’t ignore that the worlds great and good in agriscience are involved with Eden. Will they just walk away or will they take it so far then start a bidding war to buy it outright rather than pay millions in royalties. Who knows. I held some hope that each element could be sold out depending what the company wanted or their crop need was. I think sale for Eden with its IP is the best course. It has never sat well as a listed company and the lack of anything approaching care of private shareholders has been evident from any of the management groups that have run Eden over many years.

I am curious what will happen with Corteva and the 40 million Euros. For me the Last roll of the dice. If they can make that happen then maybe it will work. If not I am out. Too many other opportunities to consider and 13 years is all the patience I can muster. If nothing else my teeth nashing is giving me a David Coultard like jaw.

Even if corteva comes off I am sure the Sean rolladexer will be wheeled out and there will be more delay such as trials to do then more formulations then regulatory approvals and a raft of other excuses why it can’t quite happen now...... it will always be soon. But next year ....never now.

Re the nematocide vydate was the big boy at the time I looked at it. That was in 2012 and they had sales of £87,000,000. Eden trialled their nematocide against it and it did very well and in some cases better than vydate. The slow release was key here. It could breakdowns and release the payload at the exact moment the nematocides came out and wipe them out. The market is huge for this and with 29 countries and if it is replacing an existing product ie a full setup of ready made customers then it could be life to Eden. But oh those excuses may well get in the way again. Time will tell.

The ultimate jam tomorrow share. Good luck all and see you in the funny papers if it all comes off.

2017 Eden Reset UMMS commercial terms.

Sean Smith, Chief Executive of Eden, said: "We are pleased to announce the re-setting of some of the key commercial terms of our licence agreement with UMMS. We believe that the new terms reflect both the long term potential of our next-generation encapsulation technology whilst also reflecting the current stage of technology development. We look forward to the ongoing collaboration with UMMS which is, in part, focussed on the further development of this technology with the objective of creating a next-generation encapsulation system to help us solve a broader set of challenges for our partners."

Interim Results Due

Who cares what those numbers are. We know Eden has been bringing people and premises on stream and we know that Covid-19 has negatively affected most businesses around the world. These interim numbers for Eden will not be material to the investment case that sits before us right now.

However, it is relevant that Sean and Lykele give a strong and positive forward statement to reflect what is going on with Eden currently. Super just listed a number of things. Eden has said that insecticide(s) is/are well advanced and absolute clarity should be given around TT (just to put it to bed) and Bayer Animal Health which still resides on the Eden website.

Beyond this, real imminent prospects should be highlighted with a focus on achievable value in the near-term so that 'jam tomorrow' does not get levelled at Eden yet again.

"Millions of £s worth of investment injected to garner approvals . Waxed lyrical about the size of the market and the sales opportunities."

I'll grant you that and that is immensely frustrating.

Eden should stick to their market opportunities rather than total global numbers which, in my opinion, are simply irrelevant at this stage of the commercial being.

And yes, a lot of money and time will have been spent to get to the approval stage and so Eden does need to understand why sales have been slower than expected and put that right.

However, the Corteva opportunity as RNS'd is the immediate visible gamechanger and whilst Cedroz and Mevalone should provide over the years, plenty of operational income with profit, Corteva is going to, hopeully, blow them out of the water.

Hillowad,
Do you mean snapped up like ARM were snapped up by Softbank?

That took a while and if you believe poor Mevalone uptake due to a bad year for conventional vineyards is a significant issue for EDEN then you really do need to pay more attention.

Or..restart our junior neighbouring quiet dead thread where Mevalone and fears about French Organic status are/were considered serious topics of discussion.

"Seriously, is that all some of you can focus on."

Unfortunately the stark reality is Mevalone is small change whilst investors have expected a wedge of notes .

Priceless for years on end investors have been bombarded with RNS excitedly announcing the next product approval as the globe has opened up .Millions of £s worth of investment injected to garner approvals . Waxed lyrical about the size of the market and the sales opportunities .It hasn't happened

Today there is an article in the Times announcing the rapid growth of UK home produced wine . I wonder how that will translate for Eden?

If the potential sales market is so huge for the other products why haven'they been snapped up by one of the big boys .not normally known for being slow in coming forward
