Who are the Nutters Mike?

Monsanto have Never tested for the carcinogenicity of the formulation chemicals along with the Active ingredient Glyphosate. Internal documents say they have avoided this issue as Monsanto are afraid of what we will find as the Formulation chemicals are known to enhance the potency of the Glyphosate.

SuperI too am annoyed and feel Eden has once again failed to inform its shareholders why the launch of TT products has been delayed again. I will wait for a couple of days before I write to the Regulators asking them to investigate whether the statements in their full accounts were misleading leaving the shareholders astray. Eden did say approval should be received by end of June.

Simple Question.

Why did Monsanto systematically hide evidence/ secret documents from it's own research from the regulators?

Glyphosate, pathways to modern diseases II: Celiac sprue and gluten intolerance

Abstract
Celiac disease, and, more generally, gluten intolerance, is a growing problem worldwide, but especially in North America and Europe, where an estimated 5% of the population now suffers from it. Symptoms include nausea, diarrhea, skin rashes, macrocytic anemia and depression. It is a multifactorial disease associated with numerous nutritional deficiencies as well as reproductive issues and increased risk to thyroid disease, kidney failure and cancer. Here, we propose that glyphosate, the active ingredient in the herbicide, Roundup®, is the most important causal factor in this epidemic. Fish exposed to glyphosate develop digestive problems that are reminiscent of celiac disease. Celiac disease is associated with imbalances in gut bacteria that can be fully explained by the known effects of glyphosate on gut bacteria. Characteristics of celiac disease point to impairment in many cytochrome P450 enzymes, which are involved with detoxifying environmental toxins, activating vitamin D3, catabolizing vitamin A, and maintaining bile acid production and sulfate supplies to the gut. Glyphosate is known to inhibit cytochrome P450 enzymes. Deficiencies in iron, cobalt, molybdenum, copper and other rare metals associated with celiac disease can be attributed to glyphosate's strong ability to chelate these elements. Deficiencies in tryptophan, tyrosine, methionine and selenomethionine associated with celiac disease match glyphosate's known depletion of these amino acids. Celiac disease patients have an increased risk to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which has also been implicated in glyphosate exposure. Reproductive issues associated with celiac disease, such as infertility, miscarriages, and birth defects, can also be explained by glyphosate. Glyphosate residues in wheat and other crops are likely increasing recently due to the growing practice of crop desiccation just prior to the harvest. We argue that the practice of “ripening” sugar cane with glyphosate may explain the recent surge in kidney failure among agricultural workers in Central America. We conclude with a plea to governments to reconsider policies regarding the safety of glyphosate residues in foods.

That's correct.

We are expecting and have been expecting for a while now (years) solid news regarding TT (head Lice) and Bayer (4x companion animal products).

We could also possibly get an update related to Sipcam and a Distributor for Mevalone in the USA.

In June AttyG did a good write up on the last AGM and Investing's posts are good to look back on for the bigger picture.

The Monsanto Papers: Roundup (Glyphosate) Cancer Case Key Documents & Analysis

The risks of gene editing

You describe the recent European court judgment that gene editing technology should be treated the same as GM as “illogical and absurd” (“To feed the world, we must exploit science, not spurn its advances”, editorial). In doing so, you ignore clear scientific evidence in favour of industry propaganda. Scientific research has long shown that these new gene editing technologies give rise to similar uncertainties and risks as GM always has. Despite decades of claims that traditional GM plant breeding is completely safe, your editorial now admits that they were “imprecise” – in other words, risky. And of course they have failed to deliver on the claims originally made for GM, that it would feed the world, reduce pesticide use and deliver all sorts of other benefits. All too often, GM crops have proved a disaster.
Pro-GM forces have ignored years of scientific research, claiming that these so-called new, more precise techniques are not GM, placing themselves at odds with scientific evidence and EU law. In medical research, it is never disputed that the gene editing techniques are GM and carry similar risks. By coincidence, just two days before the ECJ decision was announced, a paper in Nature Biotechnology again confirmed the science, finding that one type of gene editing can cause greater genetic damage in cells than was previously thought, including the possibility of dangerous changes in some cells that could include triggering cancer.

Attention to botrite in vineyards this campaign.

With the beginning of the grapes painted, the danger of mildeu and oidio is reduced, but the Areeiro Phytopathological Station notices the likelihood of damage by botrite this year. Rías Baixas announces a first estimate of the vintage, which is expected to be 10% lower than last year.

The heat of the last week led to a significant advance in the grapes, which began painting in most of the parcels reviewed by the Fitopatolóxica station of Areeiro, dependent of the County Council of Pontevedra. The evolution is variable. There are parcels with 10% painted and others where virtually all grapes entered this phase. This situation makes the grapes less vulnerable to mildeu, which is why only new treatments against this disease are recommended in those vineyards where abundant spots have been detected this week and have already had badly controlled infection problems during the campaign.

For these cases, the application of a fungicide with copper at medium to low doses is recommended. In many farms, Areeiro finds that there are still excessively long grommets that hinder the correct ventilation of the curls. The pruning of these bunches can even be substituted for a treatment, as spots are eliminated and plant-level humidity is reduced.

As in the case of mildeu, when the grape enters the stage of painting it indicates a natural resistance to the oidio, reason why with the passage of the days the necessity of treatments will be reduced. In the visits carried out this week by Areeiro, there was a low incidence of oidio, which only recommends treatments in sensitive varieties that had previously poorly controlled infections and that are not yet generalized in the stage of painting.

A culturally advisable work in general and in particular in vineyards affected by oidio is the elimination of rabbits known as rebuscos. They are still very sensitive to oidium and the cracks that can cause this disease in the 'rifles' can trigger subsequent kidney disease.

Botrite.

Botrite is the disease that needs to pay more attention from here to the harvest. This year, due to humidity and temperature conditions, there were favorable conditions for fungi throughout the summer and there is a certain amount of inoculum in the environment, according to Areeiro's assessment. It must be, therefore, very pending, especially in farms where there has been a certain degree of damage from other diseases.

In the short term, the weather conditions are favorable, so Areeiro points out that the treatment may be postponed for later, taking care to apply it before the deadlines for treatment marked by the wineries, where appropriate, or with the appropriate safety periods before from the vintage.
If rains occur in the coming weeks, this may be a complicated year in botrytis, according to the agrometeorological bulletin of Galicia, which also has indications of the Vitiucultura and Oenology of Galicia (Evega).

Varietal sensitivity is a factor to keep in mind. Thus, for example, the varieties Godello, Treixadura, Torrontés, Blanco legitim and Mencía are very sensitive in Galicia's weather conditions and, nevertheless, Caíño Blanco, Albariño or Pedral are more resistant. The other authorized varieties are in an intermediate situation of sensitivity, according to Evega.

As for black-rot, in the plots of Rías Baixas Areeiro it does not detect problems, but warns that in the provinces of Ourense and Lugo if there is an incidence of black-rot. It is interesting in these cases to eliminate the most affected curls to prevent mummified beasts falling to the ground and representing a source of inoculum for the next campaign.
##############################################################################

Pests
As for the action of the bed bugs, Areeiro is detecting its significant presence in the vines, but without reaching the treatment shadows, which are reached when there is 3-5% grapes with penetrations in botry-sensitive varieties and 8% in the rest There were no problems with cycads or mites.
Alterations of wood
The heat caused during the last week that symptoms of wood diseases appeared, even in vines that had no previous problems. With the heat, another difficulty was in vines that have been overexploited, because they have been afflicted by heat stroke. There have also been symptoms of stress in plants as well as indications of deficiencies, especially in young or weak plants.

Rías Baixas estimates that it will sell 10% less than last year
The Regulatory Council of the Rías Baixas made a first estimate of grape harvest, after a widespread inspection of all the growing areas of the denomination. The collection of about 36 million kilos is expected, 10% less than last year.
The report of the Regulatory Council recalls that this year the meteorology mainly caused problems of flower and mildeu correction, which lead to the expected production drop.
The phenology of the vineyard is also more delayed than the last campaign in about 2-3 weeks and in relation to a normal year, the delay is one week, according to calculates the Regulatory Council.

Valuations of agricultural organizations
The Rural Rural Federation (Fruga) today sent a press release to question what it means as an "abandonment of the Administration" to the problems of mildeu and black-rot that are registering this campaign in much of the denominations. The agrarian organization focuses especially on the situation of abandoned plots, the focus of infections and the dissemination of inoculum, "on which the Xunta should act in accordance with the legislation in force."
Fruga also advocates for advice to growers from the Agrarian Extension offices, which considers dismantling.

On the part of the Agrarian Association of Galicia (formerly Asaja Galicia), it was recalled a few days ago in another press release that agricultural insurance does not cover damages per millennium, although the organization has questioned whether the policies should address the problems of correction flower caused by meteorology, so it advises that appropriate claims be made. The Association maintained a meeting with Agroseguros to address the problem.

Hey MW.. since you ticked up FB 'Desiccated Glyphosate Ban only Nutters' post.

Could you or FB show us some evidence to support FB disparaging statement because I have found no research articles to suggest the post is based on more than personal opinion.

I must say MW I'm disappointed that you would tick up a post that use such dismissive language.

2018 harvest in France: the weather suspense until the day of the harvest

With the heat, the 2018 vintage of the French vintage is expected to increase compared to 2017, and quality, although some soils have suffered a lot of frost, hail in the spring, and mildew mold.
"The vineyard loves the sun", unlike other agricultural products that currently suffer from drought and heat wave, says Bernard Farges, winemaker and president of a wine syndicate in the region of Bordeaux (south-west), known worldwide for its wines, 80% red.

The French Minister of Agriculture Stéphane Travert told AFP that expected wine production was "increasing compared to the average" and that "the quality should be at the rendezvous". Provided that the drought does not last until the harvest, otherwise it could reduce volumes, he said.
The rains of spring, allowed the vine not to suffer today, but if the heat wave lasted still "three weeks, there yes, we would have difficulties with strong concentrations, acceleration in the maturity, imbalances which could born in the constitution of the grapes ", confirms Mr. Farges.
In Bordeaux, two problems arise this year: 10,000 hectares of vines have been damaged by hail since the end of May and molds of mildew have developed, following rains in May and June.

Mildew has affected other French regions. The most exposed are organic winemakers. Impossible for them to resort to chemical fungicides to get rid of the fungus that rots leaves and twigs.

Heat is an ally for drying mold. But for Laurent Herlin, viticulturist installed in organic in 2009 in the Bourgueil (center), even the drought "did not make it possible to get rid of mildew".
Apart from the East, in Champagne and Alsace, where the harvest is planned "early", the heat does not seem to have advanced too early the date of the beginning of operations, between mid-August and early September, depending on the region and colors.

In Fitou, in Aude (southern France), they start even two weeks later than the previous season. In this small village, Laurent Maynadier, and another winemaker of the sector, was Tuesday the first in France to launch harvests, which are traditionally ahead thanks to a micro-climate.
According to Jérôme Villaret, General Delegate of the Interprofessional Council for Languedoc AOC Wines, the sales of Aude whites have "doubled in four years". "The producers have done a very good job of quality, there is recognition (...), with wines exported to the Japanese and American markets".
In Alsace (east), Crémant will start harvest around August 20th
