Looks to me like we are getting a new wave of retail investors.
Wish I had just come across Eden now!

Fantastic time to buy, just as the BoD really delivering on the dream.
Only a small part of the dream needs come true to make this a steal, but I sense the company is progressing across a broad range of activities.
(Couldn't resist buying more myself!)

'Eden Research believes its technology can be used beyond wine production'

Looks like a Mango but I don't think they grow like that ??

Super,

Agreed on the PR bit in the UK if/when approved. Poulton Down's contribution in the London Live film was very good and I would think they would contribute more if/when Mevalone is approved. That should create a 'cause' mentality and hit the press, the supermarkets and I imagine, investors.

It is quite a good article except it deflates at the very end suggesting you lay down the investment to mature nicely. However, I guess what price point is maturity for each investor will differ. A few points of interest

1) Nematicide market is $1.3 billion. The article reads as if Cedroz addresses this value. Eden RNS said $550 million and Sean on the Proactive video last week said £1.8 billion. Quite a difference that would be nice to settle and clarify one figure.

2) Sipcam looking at Sustaine to improve 20 active ingredients in use. I didn't realise it was this many, but good

3)Sipcam is 'very far advanced' to adapt other parts of its existing portfolio of active ingredients

That sounds to me like there are a number of potential Sipcam related RNS's coming our way in the not too distant future in addition to Sean's mention of a US distributor for Mevalone soon to be announced (Proactive video). All could be positive price changers.

Also, if Sipcam does improve the efficacy of 20 in use active ingredients then that has to be significant for Eden, not just in income from Sipcam, but proof of concept that will have others come knocking.

Add in TT and Bayer income this year and the next few months for RNS's could, hopefully, catapult the share price upwards.

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has proposed compulsory fungicide treatment on a host of vegetable seeds entering Australia, saying increasing globalisation of the vegetable seed trade, among other factors, has brought a heightened risk of pathogens entering the country.

A couple of thoughts, light and dark.
The first being this fella should be on the video;

Second, one can only hope humanity can survive the relentless toll of humanity as we destroy the web of life while we gaze into our mobile phones and wow at AI instead of wondering where the birds and insects have gone,

Insect Respect: Label against insect killing on products from Aldi

In order to increase the number and variety of insects, the Aldi Süd group of companies is the first grocery retailer to offer promotional items that have been awarded the Insect Respect label. "The seal stands for a new approach to insects and promotes awareness of their value and their biodiversity in our everyday lives. By selling the articles, we want to make our customers, and thus the general public, more aware of the topic ", says Jan Stefan Dams, CR Manager at Aldi Süd. For the loss of dead insects, the initiative is building new green areas in settlement or industrial areas. The size of the compensation area is calculated using a model developed with biologists. Among other things, this determines how much biomass is produced in weight that is killed by an Insect Respect product. "Our concept has been scientifically developed and our activities are subject to a rigorous independent review," Dr. Hans-Dietrich Reckhaus, initiator of the initiative Insect Respect.
First, an insecticide-free insect trap stick with the Insect Respect label was available from Aldi Süd. Other products should follow.

Pesticide Mission: Disappointed on glyphosate, Batho resigns as Vice President

Socialist MP and former Minister of Ecology Delphine Batho, disappointed with conclusions "not up to the task" of the information mission on phytosanitary products, announced Thursday his resignation from the vice-presidency.
"I have just resigned from the vice-presidency of the information mission on phyto-pharmaceutical products because the draft report does not advocate the exit of glyphosate or even its prohibition in three years, only the prohibition for a use "specific," she said at a meeting of the Committee on Sustainable Development.
"To continue as before, is not up to par, as every day brings new and alarming new studies on the impact of pesticides on human health and the collapse of biodiversity. below the commitments of the President of the Republic on the exit of the glyphosate, "Ms. Batho told AFP.
In the draft report, she also regretted formulations claiming, for example, that the assessment of the health effects of pesticides remained delicate, or the absence of mention of the "Monsanto Papers" case.

In the eyes of this vice-president of the Socialist Group, the only point of advance in the report is the creation of a compensation fund for victims of phytosanitary products, subject of a bill PS passed early February in the Senate against the opinion of the government.
On the other hand, arguing for "the hour of truth", Ms Batho passed an amendment to ban the glyphosate from July 2021, during the review, for opinion, the draft law on agriculture in Committee on Sustainable Development. The measure is not yet part of the bill.
The rapporteur LREM initially objected that it was "perhaps a little fast compared to the approach of the president and the government of conviction with the partners". Further evidence, according to former PS minister, of a "rewriting in the course of the presidential commitment, a great procrastination behind the scenes of power."
An amendment by Matthieu Orphelin (LREM), Nicolas Hulot's former right-hand man in his foundation, to include in the law a definition of neonicotinoids was also adopted.
And the president of the commission and former Secretary of State for Biodiversity Barbara Pompili (LREM, from the ranks of ecologists) then greeted on Twitter "progress in committee on the prohibition of glyphosate, the definition of neonicotinoids, training alternatives to phyto ... and vote of a report on the repair of the victims of phyto ".

Eden Research to yield a rich harvest
Cultivate a position in the agrochemicals play

Under-the-radar Eden Research (EDEN:AIM), whose backers include
Livingbridge UK Micro Cap Fund (GB00BV9FVS80) and Artemis Alpha Trust (ATS), looks an attractive proposition.
A provider of breakthrough
'natural microencapsulation technologies' and agrochemicals, the AIM company is shifting from a development to a lucrative commercialisation phase, with strong growth set to continue in 2018 driven by new regulatory approvals.

ENCAPSULATING EDEN
Eden provides sustainable solutions for crop protection, animal health and personal care. Significant investment in intellectual property and registrations has created a competitive advantage in a global agrochemicals industry increasingly shifting towards biological products.
The Cirencester-based concern's encapsulation technology, known as Sustaine and currently licensed to Bayer Animal Health in North America, is used in markets such as crop protection, animal and human healthcare .
Like humans and animals, plants have developed defences against pests and disease. Among their defences are essential oils containing active molecules (terpenes), which help them combat insect predators and disease.
Sustaine encapsulates these active molecules in particles that slow their release over days.
This not only ensures better levels of control, but also improves the effectiveness of existing products used for plant protection such as pesticides and biocides.

MAKING GRAPE PROGRESS
Excitingly, the AIM minnow's first fungicide product Mevalone, which targets Botrytis (grape rot), is approved for sale in 10 nations

including the top three wine producers {Italy, France, Spain). Further approvals are expected in 2018 with applications for registration being progressed in countries including the US and Australia.
Eden has a second plant protection product, a nematicide named Cedroz, which targets soil-dwelling pests. This is on course for launch in 2019 and CEO Sean Smith says it has potentially a far greater market opportunity than Mevalone.
Last summer Sipcam, an Italian multinational that specialises in making and marketing agrochemicals, invested £2.2m for a 9.9% stake in Eden. The pair have inked a number
of commercial agreements, giving Eden's agrochemicals and technologies credibility, while an eventual bid from the family -owned Sipcam is far from out of the question.

POSITIVE BREAKTHROUGH NEARS
Eden's full year results {20 Mar) revealed a revenue leap to £1.9m (2016: £0.4m), despite a testing southern European growing season for its fungicidal products, flowing through to a significantly lower underlying pre-tax loss of
£1.lm (2016: £1.9m); Eden also closed the year with £3.7m of cash in the bank.
For 2018, Shore Capital's Phil Carroll forecasts a sales surge to £3.l m, ahead of £4m and £5.7m in 2019 and 2020 respectively, while the analyst's projections point to a breakthrough into positive EBITDA of £100,000 in 2019.

WDH: Minister Schulze wants to promote insect repellent with France

BERLIN / PARIS Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze wants to forge an alliance for insect repellent with France on her first mission to Paris. "We want to form an axis Berlin-Paris in insect repellent," said the SPD politician of the German Press Agency. Not only does it want to end the use of the insecticides and weed poisons neonicotinoids and glyphosate, it also wants to achieve a new crop protection policy in general. Schulze meets her French colleague Nicolas Hulot this Thursday in Paris.
"If you could express that in money, what insects afford, huge sums of money come together," said Schulze. "The insect killing worries people, something has to happen." France had been on the "right side" with regard to glyphosate before Germany and against an extension of the approval of the active substance in the EU. "Now we are following France and have decided to end nationally the use of glyphosate as soon as possible."

In addition, Schulze wants to talk about climate protection in Paris and also make the controversial nuclear power plants close to the border a topic. "Fessenheim and Cattenom I will address in any case," said the 49-year-old. The nuclear power plant Fessenheim in the immediate vicinity of the German border should go from current plans in late 2018 or early 2019 from the network. Cattenom repeatedly makes headlines with breakdowns, a closure has not been promised.

Impact of oenological routes on phytosanitary product residues in wines

Conclusions;
The 83 oenological itineraries tested throughout the study all show a significant reduction in residue levels during the vinification process, which explains the notion of grape / wine transfer factor (residual fraction present on grapes, which transfer into the wine), variable depending on the molecules and types of winemaking. However, the possibilities of reducing the final concentration of residues by the mere choice of the technical winemaking route are very small. Even if liquid-phase vinification in both white and red, or in VDN, yields lower transfer rates in wines than solid-phase vinification, the only way to reduce beyond the limit of quantification , goes through the use of adsorbents such as coal or selective vegetable fibers either in gluing or as filter aid. It should be noted that these oenological treatments should never be used routinely, to compensate for unsystematic phytosanitary treatment programs. The best way to avoid the risk of significant residues in wines, is still to have the least possible residue in the harvest (see article July 2017 part 1/3). Finally, it should be noted that all wines, despite maximized treatments for experimental purposes, are well below MRLs (Maximum Residue Limits).
