Posted at 11/9/2024 15:09 by cocopah Well, that was hard work and a hard listen. At least MBL appeared and sounded less smug. It looks as if current investors will just have to suck it up for the next three to five years before seeing an marked improvement in the share price. There really is nothing to entice new investors in the short to medium term either. I can see the share price falling away some more in the short-term too. |
Posted at 05/8/2024 12:55 by 1knocker Pockstones, that seems about right to me. A new CEO anxious to make his mark, out to buy, and overpaying. Not to mention getting rid of money spinning coal.I am becoming ever more dubious about the pace of the 'electrification revolution'. I was tempted to have a punt on lithium earlir this year, but held off. My physical copper punt is down from 18% up to breakeven. If lithium and copper are not the bell weather for the green electrification revolution, I don't know what is, though to be fair Chinese general building is critical to and weighing on copper prices at present. Companies need to resist the temptation to follow fashion and to be patient as much as investors do. |
Posted at 05/8/2024 12:32 by pockstones Real questions about the decision making of the chief executive I would likely buy if he was not on the scene but the current price reflects the wisdom or otherwise of recent investmentsThis man looks to have bought assets that others have chosen to pass on and investors in Ecora are paying for this |
Posted at 03/8/2024 16:39 by brian3777 Just read the article in the Investors Chronic. It does not make good reading. I see now why the price collapsed yesterday. The last paragraph in the article, sums up the dreadful decisions that have been made since the new management took over. What a mess. |
Posted at 03/8/2024 10:51 by quepassa Yes. Indeed. But with gilts you 100% get your money back and would have been able to secure a guaranteed and risk-free 5%-6% yield! For anyone wishing to find the 2/8/24 Investors Chronicle article, it is headed: MINING ROYALTIES STOCKS FACE EXISTENTIAL QUESTIONS The IC article also references the West Musgrave situation and Ecora's "heavy debt repayments slated for 2027". all imo. dyor. qp |
Posted at 02/8/2024 15:16 by cocopah Great to see the slide today … now that numpty MBL is getting a taste of what he has delivered to investors! 😂😂 |
Posted at 11/7/2024 22:36 by pockstones Hmm the wisdom of paying 84p to buy back shares only a couple of weeks ago looks increasingly shaky. The bone headed arrogant stupidity of the current CEO continues to amaze Institutional investors backed the strategy which 8 guess explains the silence but what a bunch of muppets |
Posted at 02/7/2024 14:12 by laurence llewelyn binliner #The Deacon, quote : looks like a sensible and attractive move says Berenebrg, which calculates that for the USD8.5M cost, the NPV is USD13M and a rate of return around 11%..The market may well not give Ecora full credit for this deal yet, as it focuses on the balance sheet and medium-term royalty production time frame, but for patient investors, we think the value of this deal will become clear in time.. |
Posted at 02/7/2024 08:49 by swanvesta "This should be a 4 fold investment multiple return (with the Rainbow CG) over its 16 year life and what investors should look at IMO"That's a great way to fail at this game. Investors should NEVER be swayed by nominal returns years/decades in the future. They absolutely need to consider cost of capital, as well as all the typical risks, overheads and taxes. |
Posted at 02/7/2024 07:49 by quepassa Share price has now dipped into the 60's and likely to fall further. Many investors do not like the perceived heightened geo-political risk associated with RoSA since the weakened position of hitherto long-time dominant ANC after recent elections. ALL IMO. DYOR. QP |
