"In Namibia, the company has four licences in the offshore Walvis Basin (Sharon, Cooper, Guy and Tamar). All these licences are being matured to a drill-ready stage. Management is also looking at building up further acreage."

Behind the scenes will be slightly different imo

Scroll down to "Southern Africa: a new exploration hotspot?"

This web page is dated 6th September 2018

Check out the ledgend and Figure 1, you will see there are 4 blocks under negotiation, one of which is GBP recent new block 2011A, which is in between GBP's PEL29 and ECO's . I am sure it is just a minor error as our block was acquired on the 19th September. However, someone is acquiring blocks 1910A, 1911 and 1912B.

TRP are in for at least one of the blocks, but are Eco going for any ?

ECO done very well today, considering the market is suffering across a broad range?

Have Exxon struck oil next to ours? :)

It just amazes me why people still put their hard earned cash into the likes of
SOLO,GBP,UKOK,etc etc, when they could drop some cash into this and wait..
but each to their own

SP took off as soon as you posted Penfold. That note makes it quite clear that ECO is effectively drilling an apprasial well this quarter with the appraisal on Hammerhead and that further significant CPR updates are also due. Taking ANY cash off the table at this juncture looks far too risky. A very good chance there will be some large gaps on open and some serious upside at some point this quarter. Hold tight to core positions and add on any pullbacks. STRONG BUY.

Gil was recently talking of two new opportunities they were looking at, would they need to raise funding for that ?

They seem to be fairly well funded currently

Hi Zengas,

Is WTE John Craven's largest listed vehicle investment, post-Cove? Or is it just fun money for him and his mates? ATB. It's been deadly quiet over there.

mr hangman, Steve Staley was a consultant to Cove. The guys at Westmount helped establish Cove to get the assets that made a fortune. The same people also brought in John Craven to run Cove who is now a significant investor in Westmount. They've also took up other interests as well as being early stage investors in Eco. Given that there's no disclosure on what was paid or overall cost I wouldn't think that the NPIs have cost them much at this stage and they are only 0.5% in one discovery, 0.5% in one prospect plus 1% in another v high impact prospect that Staley brought to Upland Resources. They would have been up from 16p - 50p in Eco. I wouldn't worry too much about sales in Eco if it was them or not. There was an early stage seller in Cove that some thought strange at the time but bears no relation to the outcome. It's all about capital management and growing a company.

Westmount also finished their RNS by adding "This investment is consistent with Westmount's strategy of seeking opportunistic investments with potential for value creation, alongside the Company's current focus on the prolific Guyana-Suriname Basin."
