EBQRS, will drop you a private message, may be Monday (latest).
I'm not an advertising or media person, just a PI with an interest in EBQ as it evolves in my SIPP.

It was clear yesterday that someone is interested in EBQ at volume and it held up very well during the sell-off elsewhere. The technical analysis is also telling. The volume on the day was about 4x the previous 3 month average daily and the weekly MACD is very near a cross up. It looks positive. Barring unexpected negative news it looks likely to move higher from the recent range.

Ebiquity

provides independent media analysis and is an international business, although North American revenues are low in relation to the size of the market. The company works for the majority of the top 100 advertisers in the world and helps them to spend their advertising funds more efficiently.

The company’s media specialists analyse $55 billion of media spending in 75 markets. The FirmDecisions compliance business audits $40 billion of value each year. Newer clients include Unilever and BMW.

A new office was opened in India in October because of the strong growth in the Indian advertising market. Advertising spending is expected to grow by more than 20% in the latest year, with digital growing even faster. One of the ways that Ebiquity can grow is by selling more of its services to existing clients, as well as expanding in markets such as North America.

Ebiquity slumped into loss during 2020 and bounced back in 2021, when earnings per share are estimated at 3.1p.

The share price had a strong run early in 2021 as advertising spending rebounded. Even so, the shares are trading on 17 times prospective 2021 earnings, falling to 11 in 2022. Hargreave Hale recently increased its stake to 18.1%.

Ebiquity warrants a higher valuation and could be an attractive bid target for a larger media and marketing business if the share price does not rise. Buy.

Hi P1nkfish,

I have been following your commentary with interest and would love to connect with you in some way, if you are open to this. I am an executive at Ebiquity.

Best wishes,
Ruben

Wonder if Ebiquity will see any increase in business because of this accusation?

Well it had some buys and some decent volume transfers. I still have a target of 80p that might be on the low side. Info in the form of material news needed.

Patience certainly needed but from what I can see they are doing many of the right things.
Sell volume not large, needs some positive news to increase on the buy side.

Interesting, word is the cost of digital ads will rise in the near future along with everything else. A chance the increasing costs will be noticeable and another input to business that will need tighter control to be made ever more efficient/productive.

Good for EBQ.

Good to see discretionary clients of Cannacord adding.

I have no idea what's next but still believe Digital Decisions is transformational.
Was recently in conversation on another matter and it was highlighted that algorithms are not particularly valuable. Data is. Data sets are. Deep historical datasets are very valuable.

It then struck me that is exactly what Digital Decisions is gathering - probably billions of Data points. Someone else could set-up to compete with Ebiquity but they can't get that Data now, it's already collected, is being collected, and any competitor will be coming from behind. The Data = $ and a moat is being created.

Am I missing something?

One example, Mondelez results. 6%+ inflation type into 2022. They won't want to lose market share on price increases they pass on so need to keep advertising but need to be more efficient than ever. All digital ad spend needs to be made more efficient imho, helping EBQ sell their capabilities. Just mho.

An interesting time in the market Ebiquity operates in.
Inflation is pressuring companies and supply side issues are crimping the large multi-nationals so they are driving to become more efficient. Pressure in ad budgets but also a need to make sure all ad spend is done more wisely. Add to that changes in online ad environment in general. On one hand volumes could go down and on the other more efficiency needed.

My suspicion is Ebiquity can benefit overall, but I could be wrong.

There is demand for shares at around 51.88 if you want to sell but less supply if you want to buy - at the moment.

Might this be a local bottom now?

Looking through the fog, I see EBQ as being in the right sort of areas with their offering and the market will move towards them. Wont happen in next few weeks but highly likely to happen.

Yes good enough results and good that they are moving up internal estimates for operating profit.
I am thinking of reducing somewhat my holding as I try and see if a £48m Marcap is warranted.
I see no results webcast or IMC type event or even an Edison report...so IR does not seem a major priority.
I do grant them that good II representation on the shareholder register.

CANACCORD GENUITY GROUP INC : DISCRETIONARY CLIENTS take their holding up by about 1.1% to 16.3489 % :-

Presumably explains at least some of the upward share price movement.
