02/10/2001 18:13 | Pdm, Hope you didn't get a nasty burn from these! In normal times, I would have gobbled these up at around 80p but I'm still on the sidelines - much to my dismay! Can you get shorting again to give me another opportunity? Cheers. | pinsticker
02/10/2001 17:40 | ebq always make a first half loss because 75% of sales are xmas related. The fact that the loss was so small is brilliant news. | glennborthwick
02/10/2001 16:51 | I also cannot understand why EBQ should be making a loss (can only put it down to the lack of block buster games to support the PS2). Lets hope this time the shares do not perform their usual trick of rising on good results then continually drift back until the next set of good results. | mercier et camier
02/10/2001 16:47 | I jumped out at £1.11 after buying in at 72p - but will keep an eye on things and if it should drop below £100 again i will be tempted - I can only see positive times ahead for EBQ but I am sticking to the advice to "bank" if a share goes up 40% (actually went up 50% for me as I didn't keep my eye on it!!) - I've been too greedy before and have regretted it every time. So I'm very happy with my small (but perfectly formed) 50% or so. Good Luck to everyone still in - I don't think you have anything to worry about over the coming weeks and months with this share. | eyesclosed
02/10/2001 16:17 | eyes - well done. At least I told a fair few people to get into EBQ, even if I bottled it so early (spread betting). Said it would go past £1 on interims and hey presto. Good luck with it Rob | uncle-bob
02/10/2001 16:13 | I was very tempted to do teh same when it was mid £1.50 s - missed the boat on that one - ah well, can't have it all (EBQ is the first share I have ever made money on - so I have something to celebrate at last!!) | eyesclosed
02/10/2001 16:06 | Nah, I got into Eidos instead, which is looking ok. | uncle-bob
02/10/2001 16:02 | Maybe a chance to get in a bit lower tomorrow - I'm sure a lot of people will jump off after the rise today. (just trying to make you feel better) | eyesclosed
02/10/2001 15:28 | eyes - I know.. worse and worse.. I am in agony. | uncle-bob
02/10/2001 14:49 | Uncle Bob - don't look any more!! (1.08 sell at present!) | eyesclosed
02/10/2001 11:28 | Well for what its worth the margins (%) on PS2 software is higher than PS1 for us, but this can soon change, usually when your not looking :( What i find strange is that they should make a loss at all, if my sis made a half yr loss at anytime she would be looking for something else to do, or somewhere else to do it, and i bet Eb don't pay her trade prices....me-thinks the landlords and councils (rates) must be making a killing. | games
02/10/2001 10:24 | Hang on folks.... While this Xmas should be very good for the sector, it may be worth keeping an eye on the likes of Dixons, they love bundles. | games
02/10/2001 09:53 | I agree, lets hope the price continues to rise. If it can stay above 100p then I think it's in for a good run. FEVS | fevs
02/10/2001 09:43 | Fantastic! Well done EBQ. All we need now is the follow through to Christmas and beyond. There is every reason to believe that this will be the first of a couple of bumper years for EBQ. The only cloud on the horizon is a potential slowdown due to economic circumstances, which even then should not detract too much from games sales. Technically I would like to see a decent break through 120 and then we could see 150 by the time Christmas trading figures are announced. | witten
30/9/2001 00:59 | Agree 100% Tonyx and may I suggest a great buy at EBQ for next weekend is The movie based game The Italian Job. Relieve the heist and escape through the streets of Turin with the loot!!!!! Was that to blatent Uncle Bob? | chef
30/9/2001 00:38 | SHARES mag tipped EBQ a few weeks back when they were 110p ish. Bought some at 83p & looking for 130p by xmas. I know people are talking about recession but rather than go out to pub/club/cinema & spend a fortune why not get a few beers in & play the latest PC/PSX releases & EB is a better place than any to buy those games. IMHO of course! Best of luck all. Tony | tonyx
29/9/2001 15:11 | melfaraj - it is not possible for Americans to eat more chocolate. The human body can only grow to a certain size before exploding. | uncle-bob |
