An awful lot of young peeps travel on Ryanair/EZJ. If they cant travel without the hideous Covid passport, these airlines ain't gonna make any money. It's mostly the young that drop 20 quid on on flight food and booze too (in my experience of zillions of these flights). How many of 18-40 year olds are going to take this unnecessary vaccine? 20%?

"Spain has said it hopes to open up to overseas travellers from June, as plans for an EU-wide digital certificate go before the European Parliament.

Tourism minister Fernando Valdés said a pilot test would take place in May so that Spain would be ready to receive travellers the following month.

The EU has been working on a digital pass in time for the summer holidays."

What? The EU are involved? That is Spain finished for the season.

The last time I looked the red list was full of non tourist destinations including India. The biggest for the UK is Spain (tourist stats all online). Compare India's daily COVID peak with ours in terms of percentage (not "headline grabbing" case numbers) and you'll see through the smoke.Variants and the headlines are just being used to tame the public and besides we've already proven test and trace can catch the ones of concern. Concern...roll eyes. I'm a concern! :-) so all the EU countries will be open arms for us "clean" Brits. The airline bosses all know this too and also want more bookings, hence the news.

I think that there will be a larger red list than we anticipate. India is badly hit. The EU countries have made a mess of the vaccinations.

I am hearing that those people thinking about a holiday this year are looking at Wales and Scotland.

Everyone knows flights/holidays are on this summer, so they are stating the obvious to boost the share price. If covid was rocketing, record high rates etc etc and they came out with this news, then I'd agree with you.

AS - I think that it is called "hedging your bets". If you lose your money, you have the satisfaction of being right. If you make money, you also have the satisfaction of being right.
