30/1/2018 08:13 | I think the whole mantra about 'we need to pay xxxxxx to get the best people' is a load of hogwash. There are always people just below on the ladder for the top jobs, who would give their right arm for a chance at the next job up. Its just that the headhunters will always go for the safe option. That means all the 'established' corporate CEO's etc. That goes for recruitment at senior management level as well in anything except SME's. If you've got any sort of unusual track record, you've got no chance. Nobody wants to have to think. I've worked in higher level recruitment and they would always say they are 'professionals', but they're not. They're wimps and won't try to persuade a company to take unusual candidates who might actually make a difference. As AI and automation start to take over quite high level jobs, there will be increasing numbers of people all capable of doing these 'must have the best people' jobs. | yump
30/1/2018 07:01 | Interesting how the gender equal pay is working out. Its very positive in bringing equality and at the same time reducing over inflated remuneration. Some huge decreases at the BBC which makes a nonsense of what we were told about people leaving. The banks need to follow and cut pay as do many other companies. | amt
29/1/2018 13:54 | stocks trade on expectations of the future, not the present. And the market is saying that Easyjet has a great future! | ricer93
29/1/2018 08:54 | Hi Chief,Yep profits down but still profitable and profits improving. Projections to 2019 better also. I've got the PE at about 16.Figures from Stockopedia.Am I looking for the next chapter in EZJ? Yes. Airlines are dynamic business but I can see Ezj staying the course and building. See what the Jan pax figures come out as. Im hoping to see 19 pounds before it flatlines for a while. Thanks for the input. Need the feedback to prevent confirmation bias. | calabrian
29/1/2018 08:44 | I suspect it will push to all time highs in the next year. The dip caused mostly by Brexit worries is being put behind us as there are solutions to avoid Brexit having a direct impact. As seems likely for a few years a relative worsening of peoples wealth will perhaps drive more people to budget airlines. True a weak sterling is not great and probably get worse vs euro as rest of Europe recovers while UK struggles along but EZJ can continue to build its European hubs and shift more business out of uk anyway. Longer term UK could do well out of Brexit but thats the complete unknown. If it turns out to be a mistake then there is the rest of Europe to concentrate on and poorer living standards would move more uk people to budget airlines so I dont see anything but positives for EZJ over the short and longterm. The best buying opportunity has gone now but that was a complete no brainer anyway. | amt
29/1/2018 06:30 | Just over1900p in Apr 05. All time highs.Bigger company now but profits way down on then.P/E of circa 20 now so i suspect some consolidation now until we see profits start to significantly improve again....which they will. | chiefbrody

24/1/2018 18:08 | Neilrich. Just hold both. Both great stocks to get own. Even if for different reasons.A few months ago i'd have bet my holdings that IAG would crack 1000p well before EZJ hits 2000p.Now i'm not so sure. One thing that i'm more sure of is the IAG dividend has a lot more scope to increase significantly more than EZJ's. | chiefbrody
