Share price rising sharply, up 30p, longs doing great today.I've only been here a month or so, been a great stock so far, my only question is, who is this QuePassa Avatar? It seems to be a great contrarian indicator, glad I do my own thing.

QuePassa must be leveraged to the tilt on the short side haha

He has exposed himself - he must have a mind-boggling GBP1000 a point short position on Easyjet!

All longs who took out leveraged positions recently can likely expect BIG MARGIN CALLS shortly. A very painful time ahead. The share fell 42p on Friday.

Especially with the month-end fast approaching - spreadbetting and leveraged longs will be forced to close new positions and will be scurrying to sell stock which will depress prices further

1420 to 1270p and falling.

easyJet today signed an agreement with Air Berlin to acquire part of its operations at Berlin Tegel Airport for a purchase consideration of €40 million. This excludes potential start-up and transitional operating costs. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in December 2017.

The acquisition will result in easyJet entering into leases for up to 25 A320 aircraft, offering employment to Air Berlin flying crews and taking over other assets including slots. easyJet has launched a recruitment campaign to attract around 1000 of Air Berlin's pilots and cabin crew who will be recruited over the coming months and will then be trained on easyJet's safety and operating procedures. In line with easyJet's business model they will be employed on local, German contracts under collective labour agreements negotiated with ver.di.

This agreement is consistent with easyJet's strategy of purposeful investment in strong number one positions in Europe's leading airports (or number two to a legacy incumbent). This will enable easyJet to operate the leading short haul network at Tegel connecting passengers to and from destinations across Germany and the rest of Europe. This is in addition to easyJet's existing base at Berlin Schönefeld and would mean that easyJet would be the leading airline in Berlin.

easyJet will make announcements on the new routes and services to be flown to and from Tegel in due course. easyJet will operate a reduced timetable at Tegel during the winter season but plans to operate a full schedule from the summer season 2018.

easyJet looks forward to building on the strong, customer focussed platform it already has in Berlin to fly more passengers, employ more people and support more economic growth in both Berlin and Brandenburg.

A bit of maths.

A half-decent long spread-bet @ £1,000 per point on Friday when the share price fell 42p would have seen a loss of FORTY-TWO THOUSAND POUNDS in just that trading session. Ouch..

MARGIN CALL.....

Certain highly regarded industry veterans have been calling for a fleet reduction, not a fleet expansion.

Acquiring parts of Air Berlin would help EasyJet make up lost ground in Germany, where it lags well behind Ryanair.

MUST BE A VERY EARNINGS ENHANCING BUY IN BERLIN

I think anybody short has probably had a very worrying weekend. I think a lot of those short were perhaps hoping that the Air Berlin deal was going to go pear shaped. There are probably over two hundred million pounds worth of shares that need to be purchased by the shorters (c 4.5% estimate). Best of luck with that lads and lasses. LOL :-)

As it is this deal gives EasyJet a huge step forward in Germany. Very attractive proposition for all those long haul airlines who have been working with EasyJet of late.

A great move IMHO.

Bad, bad news for the much coveted Barcelona routes with all the politics going on. Will certainly dampen demand on those routes.

And who can ignore the worrying details which came from IAG on Friday which trashed and caned share prices so viciously? IAG DOWN 6.9% and Easyjet down a whopping 42p.

Just think, all those longs who bought recently at £13.50 and £14 are already haemorrhaging money badly and deeply out of the money. Looks like they'll be forced to start closing rapidly to preserve capital which will weaken the price further.

An extremely worrying time ahead. Bad news from IAG. Bad news for the Barcelona routes and the recent RyanAir storm-in-a-teacup already fading from memory.

Looks like the new longs will be having very sleepless nights and their phones will soon be ringing for larger and larger margin calls.

Down 42p yesterday. A very bad day.

Barcelona politics will weigh heavily on market sentiment and will pull down demand for those routes.
