EZJ needs a much stronger balance sheet and more money in the bank before it needs/starts any share buybacks.

Its just rampers speculating, the company needs to start making profits, its seems some are already spending money they haven’t currently got.

The company is still making up its losses of £350m.

If only share buy backs did lift the share price That is the idea of them but often makes a very small difference.

I understand buy backs but just don't think they are the best use of money.I think companies just don't know what to do with the cash so instigate a buy back.

470 for my B/E, so I'll have to continue busking.

I'd agree to a shared buyback, here & IAG

Fingers crossed.

Hmm, well that's one view but suggests a lack of understanding of how buy backs may affect holdings.

It also implies the boards of the worlds most successful business have no idea how to invest, for example Apple have recently announced a $110bn share buy back. 38% of large US companies had buy backs in 2023.

I ran some figures through my spreadsheet in regards to Lloyds and their buy back. Once completed the dividend will rise from 2.76p to 2.92p, the yield will move from 4.97% to 5.25%, at the same level of payout.

That's nonsense. Share buybacks support the share price. Not all investors support dividends as largely the value of the dividend just comes off the share price.
Lifting excess shares off the market allows for a share price rise. The management and the brokers think that the share price is ridiculous and they may choose to buy some back. I don't think that it will be much £50-100m

When a company buys shares back, it is because they can't think of anything better to do with the money.

Yay, back in profit, £3.87 after costs if I sell right now...

That's a decent coffee, or a small burger.

FB, I don’t really follow the charts and have limited knowledge.
The RSI is not far off 30 which seems to be the historical bottom.

If I was to guess (and that’s all I can do) I don’t think there is much downside, however any major general market moves can’t be discounted.

I won’t be adding to my small holding regardless.

NR- do you think EZY has bottomed out on charts? I think there was an intraday low and bottomed on 7th Aug

Cumnor they have already said they will pay 20% of profit after tax. Rather than being stupid about an excellent management team going anywhere why not look at their ability and opportunity to increase the profit after tax.

Given the stupid market valuation I would rather they spend the money buying cheap shares back

Davius, I must admit I rise to her ramping.

Facts are nothing said on these boards affect the share price given the number of trades per day, she does like the sound of her own voice (in text) ,it’s quite funny the excuses spouted at times and the relentless ramping without any acknowledgment of issues.

The share price might do well but it will be due to the company meeting/exceeding expectations

T2T it's barely changed with regards tourism, the right to remain has changed.
And no longer a mission creep to a federal Europe for the UK.

In reality it's irrelevant to EasyJet

It's actually the most sensible post ever from the account. Brexit has tied the hands of the UK tourism industry and so many others. Utterly pointless pride project that continues to fail us all.

He (Sapphireblue1) comes out with lots of harmless drivel, but in his latest post (19236) he comes across as rather bitter.

He may well be a Trump supporter, with Tommy Robinson on speed dial, and with a picture of Kier Starmer on his dart board.

Or he could be a homeless bum with a phone he taps away on all day between downing bottles of cider.

I always laugh when randoms on a bulletin board try and tell me how bad my life is, as I contemplate which cycle ride to join tomorrow, look forward to the weekend's sailing, and consider how to spend the afternoon, practicing guitar perhaps, maybe write a new song, or a recce ride over the Quantocks.

People like Sapphire would have you believe that you need to be rich to be wealthy. He/she thinks Britain has it bad. I've never had it so good.
