23/10/2009 02:04 | thanks dave. I'm sure i read on Implats production outlook rns (yesterday) that its cash costs are over 11,000 zar/oz ie approx $1500oz? So still out of the money. | rambutan2
23/10/2009 00:44 | By no means cleverer but think this may be what you mean Rambutan? PS. Not possible to post chart itself - stockcharts website disallows it - follow the link, then paste $PLAT:$ZAR into the symbol box and select 3 years under 'range', replacing 'fill the chart' PPS. I can't find one for Rhodium, which is also very significant. | doobydave
22/10/2009 23:20 | remember, what really matters is the price of pog (edit: i mean pgm's!) in zar. Perhaps someone cleverer than me can post a chart showing it. | rambutan2
22/10/2009 22:50 | Yeah - the bid is just an added bonus - but that only means that another company also values ELR highly enough to buy it. On the other hand, in the long term we would probably make more money from our investments without a bid. The bid rumours also caused a spike in the share price - and some short termers are now moving on. But production is increasing alongside the price of platinum. IMV there is a large upside potential in the share price which will be realised if these factors do not change. | melody9999
22/10/2009 13:48 | The prospect of a bid just adds an extra upside opportunity. The underlying business is strong. | energiser01
21/10/2009 17:48 | So the share price doubles if there is a bid and crumbles if not? Did you post under another name in the past? Your name is new to me. | bionicdog
21/10/2009 17:17 | The only upward potential from here would be if the bid rumours were true. Rumours of bids generally outnumber actual bids in the mining sector by about six to one. That means there's a six to one chance of you doubling your money; a fool's bet if ever there was one. | softhat
21/10/2009 16:12 | and on the way back up again (spot price) now 1355/oz | bertberr
21/10/2009 13:32 | Down 8% in Canada, platinum now falling... | softhat
20/10/2009 00:05 | Up 8% in Canada, platinum still rising.... | energiser01
18/10/2009 12:08 | What's a sewing circle , is it where one would make a soft hat? | bionicdog
17/10/2009 19:44 | Some idiotic gossip about a bid, that's all. Worse than a sewing circle. | softhat
15/10/2009 21:02 | Was 271 just an informed guess, leedskier? ;) | doobydave
15/10/2009 07:18 | Agreed. Maybe XTA, having now abandoned this morning it's suit of AAL, but cash rich, is interested! | leedskier
14/10/2009 18:01 | Still hold a few Dave , not enough to worry about unless they reach their previous dizzying heights. Luckily took profits on the way up. | bionicdog
14/10/2009 17:52 | Hmmm... I'm getting carried away, bionic. Cheese and Chinese together - eeyuck! I take it you hold these, then. Been here long? I bought my first tranche when they were still Elgin on the TSX, now applying for my Zimmer frame. | doobydave
14/10/2009 17:46 | Chinesee Dave? Is that like something being cheesy , a bit Chinese? | bionicdog
14/10/2009 17:06 | Chinesee interest? Just a little wild speculation... | doobydave
14/10/2009 17:00 | and in more context: | doobydave
14/10/2009 16:59 | I have reasons beyond the price movement to believe that's correct Parvez. But please nobody take that as gospel - it ain't. | doobydave
14/10/2009 15:47 | is there something more than the canadians afoot here? | parvez
14/10/2009 15:47 | Plat price clearly a big help. Suspect news of other projects starting/restarting imminent now dyor etc. | energiser01 |
