20/4/2009 10:29 | I would be selling whilst the price is artificially high! Yes, perhaps the bid, (if it materialises) may come at a slight improvement from here, but if it doesnt then the stock is 2-3p in a heartbeat. | yohoho
18/4/2009 00:14 | Yohoho, what would you do if you were him? | dionis

17/4/2009 08:46 | If the assets of 2.31 million are gone we have to be told where and why. bonuses, wages and pure incompetence i suspect. they must show us some figures ( results now ) | whitewestie
16/4/2009 22:55 | This was just seven months ago... Net assets totalled £5.59 million compared to £5.55 million at 30 June 2007. Net current assets totalled £2.31 million (2007: £2.48 million). Dividend The Board is confident in the Group's prospects and has therefore decided to pay an interim dividend of 0.2p per share (2007: 0.4p). The reduction compared to last year reflects the Board's caution given adverse market conditions and the cost of establishing the City based broking team. The dividend will be paid on 10 November 2008 to shareholders on the register on 10 October 2008. Share buy backs With the further decline in our share price and believing the Group to be undervalued, we have continued to purchase our own shares in the market with a total of 1,245,000 having been purchased to date. These shares are being held in Treasury and are therefore capable of issue in the future. Subject to cash resources being sufficient, this policy will be continued. Have the assets been destroyed so much that a bidder can give little more than 40p in the pound ? | davidosh
16/4/2009 22:32 | yohoho, if so where has all the money gone? you have a job to do any research if they never say anything or publish the results when they should, its very difficult to find out anything unless you are in the know or know someone who is. info is very thin on the ground. | whitewestie
16/4/2009 22:30 | Tips suggesting a bid at 7.5 imminent. | yohoho
16/4/2009 22:18 | My point WW is that I believe their revenue position is now extremely poor and that they are desperate for business. However DYOR etc...... | yohoho
16/4/2009 22:01 | Davidosh, from anecdotal evidence it has yes. Won't say more but have been surprised what I have heard. | yohoho
16/4/2009 19:39 | Just six months ago Dowgate were mad keen to buyback shares at 10p. As many as they could get their hands on even gaining permission to do so during a closed period which is very rare. Why would directors want a bid anywhere near 6p ? Has all the cash and value of the business disappeared ? They paid more for Seymour Pierce alone surely ? No results and no AGM ? How can shareholders consider an offer without knowing the financial position at least to December ? Shareholders deserve explanations and an understanding of what has happened here and who has taken all that cash away IMO !! | davidosh

16/4/2009 17:37 | Just found this one.... The Board of Dowgate Capital plc (the "Company") has received notification that as a result of an acquisition of ordinary shares in the Company on 13 November 2008, Peter Webb and related parties hold 2,071,896 ordinary shares in the Company, representing approximately 5.25 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital. He must have paid around 5.5p for those so no great deal there. I wonder if he was just holding awaiting a deal. | davidosh
16/4/2009 17:19 | Davidosh - no more than 3p. From the latest RNS looks like they are about to concede. | yohoho |
