No clear plan at Domino’s, says Liberum A lack of a plan for next year and low earnings visibility means Liberum has more questions than answers for Domino’s Pizza (DOM). Analyst Wayne Brown retained his ‘sell’ recommendation and target price of 250p on the stock despite expecting the takeaway pizza chain to meet its full year 2017 guidance. The shares were up 3p at 332.4p yesterday. ‘Earnings visibility is low,’ he said. ‘Management stated that it is too early to take a view on pricing of food for next year and they will come up with a plan through the course of the year that delivers a balance between offering value and a pricing/promotion strategy. ‘Seems rather late in the current year to not have set a plan for full year 2018.’ He said there were ‘more questions than answers’ at Domino’s and ‘we feel a cautious stance remains warranted’.

Yep it's the technology and the brand strength. It works and as long as they keep working in this it will be ok. Like Amazon who use tech to just sell ordinary 'stuff'. Nothing fancy other than the tech!

@pal44, Liberum Capital recommend restaurant group 400p target although their recent result stated operating profit slump over 29%. No sense to me.

I guess every cloud has a silver lining i.e. soggy British summer = good for DOM. Looking ahead to sales in the World Cup, it's disappointing that Scotland and Wales blew it but at least Iceland made it to Russia. I may have to go back and look at some of the old management presentations but why are Icelandic Domino's Pizza stores so incredibly profitable?

There's always one ;-) "...broker Liberum cautioned against reading too much into one quarter of improved performance, particularly if margins continue to come under pressure from discounting. Analyst Wayne Brown said: “The long-term sales trend is clear and we see no abatement to pressures.” HTTPS://www.standard.co.uk/business/price-cuts-give-hungry-diners-domino-s-effect-a3654671.html

Extract from N+1 Singer broker note issued earlier this morning: "The shares have been firm coming into today’s update in anticipation of a good update and we expect them to react favourably given the metrics and tenor are better than anticipated. Using consensus forecasts the shares trade on a FY18 P/E of 20x with a c.3% yield. We see scope for the rating to nudge up given the company seems to be overcoming the H1 setback."
