Londoners will soon see more Domino’s Pizza (DOM) locations around the capital. The pizza company has entered into a partnership with its largest franchisee in London to help it open more locations around the city.

Domino’s will pay £24m for a 75 per cent stake in a newly formed company, whose assets will be made up of the 25 existing stores already run by the franchisee.

Instead of paying top dollar to bring London franchisees in house the group should be buying back its shares. The amount Domino's has paid for a 75% stake in its London franchisee looks ridiculous. Why did the group need to buy it? The strategy in the UK is to franchise things? Did the London franchisee not sign up to the growth plans?

All a bit murky with no clear explanation in the update.

phil, the short interest only shows shorts of more than 0.5%.

If you look at the stock-on-loan figures on Euroclear (or others), it has risen from around 3% in Feb, gaining steadily to more than 8.3% in July.

No, I don't think so .

Big seller dumping as soon as the shareprice approached 280p today. Plenty of large NT trades shown after the close from business completed earlier in the day.

Have to wait and see if the seller has completed or if we've got an overhang here now waiting to unload into strength again like today.
