27/6/2001 10:42 | LPT took a kicking yesterday as well, on minimal volume. (sorry to keep harping on about another stock on this thread, but it is relevant, as you will see:) Does the team think, that this is related to general market conditions, or is there some sector-related issue? | zzaxx99
27/6/2001 10:36 | Down 9% today, chart suggests could break 100 support, watch carefully | jackrussel

25/6/2001 16:29 | Has done it before in the past. Institutions buying (see RNS) pulled the price up again. Good yearly results. Should bounce back. | gerard j
25/6/2001 15:58 | Don't know what's behind the fall today? anyone else following? | reetus
25/6/2001 06:44 | Moneyguru BUY recomendation. Directors buying. Institutions buying(see various RNS). DYOR - I did! | gerard j
22/6/2001 13:04 | LPT stills looks a better bet to me than DNO - nearly double the EPS, and PEG of less than 1, as opposed to over 5 for DNO (is that figure correct?). Also had well received interims, though admittedly announced over 3 months ago | zzaxx99
22/6/2001 12:43 | Get real guys. Any company working on a margin of 1% sounds a bit iffy to me. Doesn't matter what hype they put on their performance in Asia, if they can't crack the UK and US markets then they have a mighty problem. (IMMHO) G. | greystone
22/6/2001 07:46 | Aparently the Moneyguru people advised people to buy after the drop, dont know how much this affected the price, IMHO the drop was overdone the balance sheet was good and profits up, which did not, I thought justify the 16% drop when they said next half would be slower due to US slowdown....hmmm. Pity i wasnt suficiently convinced to get back in when i saw the drop..... | acorn1
22/6/2001 07:11 | Should start trotting after recent Directors and Institutions buying. | gerard j
21/6/2001 13:44 | Directors/Institutio Worth a look. | gerard j
21/6/2001 13:08 | more buys again today | artful investor
20/6/2001 10:06 | Lots of buying activity in the stock today, suggests yesterday's reaction to the results was overdone. | artful investor
19/6/2001 10:29 | Price picking back up again now. phew! | reetus
19/6/2001 09:13 | I would also be pretty concerned about the worsening of the profit margin - Sales +12% but op profit only up 1% Still like LPT better at the moment, though I will happily concede that DNO may well be better placed in the future, due to investment in new tech. | zzaxx99
19/6/2001 09:01 | I think the today's fall is a bit harsh given the explanations given in the report. To look on the optomistic side the report says 'We expect to see further growth in Europe and Asia as a result of the strong demand for our products in these markets'. These areas are likely to provide more growth than the USA, which they are already well established. and it looks as though the company has prepared for the inevitable slow down in American by saying 'We are encouraged by the progress on our strategic initiatives and the acquisitions which strengthen the company's operational efficiency and extend its market leadership. In terms of products, efficiency, service, market reach and innovation the company is well placed for the future'. | reetus
19/6/2001 06:55 | Well the today, and wow did the price get hammered, down another 16% 'Continued Growth in Sales and Profits 2001 2000 Change Sales £76.56m £68.58m +12% Operating Profits £6.44m £6.37m +1% Pre-tax Profits £6.00m £5.84m +3% Earnings £4.15m £4.08m +2% Operating Cash Flow £7.38m £8.23m -10% Earnings per Share 3.55p 3.52p +1% Dividends per Share 1.31p 1.19p +10% Highlights Strong growth in Asia continues, turnover up 27%Strong sales performance in continental Europe, turnover up 23%Growth of 33% in the laser businessContinued market share gains through A-series printersInvestment in Sator Laser strengthens our leadership position in laser coding and markingPeter Byrom, Chairman, commented "The strength of our product range and of our global sales and service organisations has enabled us to maintain our growth in sales. "We have invested significantly in our sales and service resource levels during the last year to grow our market share. Trading conditions have been difficult in some countries, most notably the USA but also in the UK, nevertheless strong performance in Asia and continental Europe has driven the sales growth. "We expect to see further growth in Europe and Asia as a result of the strong demand for our products in these markets. In the USA order intake rates are well below last year and were particularly depressed from the middle of quarter 2. Continued weakness in this market will impact results in the second half year. We are encouraged by the progress on our strategic initiatives and the acquisitions which strengthen the company's operational efficiency and extend its market leadership. In terms of products, efficiency, service, market reach and innovation the company is well placed for the future". ...' I think the highlighted bits probably explain why they've had such a kicking - my, I'm sure this news couldn't possibly have been leaking out over the last few days - I'm sure that sort of thing could never happen. | zzaxx99
18/6/2001 15:15 | Why the big price drop on these tiny volumes? Looks hugely undervalued unless there's a nasty shock around the corner?? Interims imminent? | mn1d5
15/6/2001 09:42 | Anyone know anything behind the big sells (although small volume) today/yesterday? | artful investor
14/6/2001 15:21 | Just picked up on this one, through an interest in LPT. Artful, why do you say that this co is cheaper than Linx? Has lower EPS, and slightly lower growth. Also has a horrible chart. LPT chart isn't exactly unblemished, with a plummet in May, but is generally up-trend, with cracking growth and very good H1 interims. | zzaxx99
25/5/2001 15:22 | Now moved up 5%. Perhaps this market is rational after all. | artful investor
25/5/2001 12:03 | 3 Massive trades gone through today at above the offer price, but the price has yet to move. | artful investor
23/5/2001 14:47 | 4 Massive trades gone through today, but no change in the share price. Are these buys or just stock changing hands? | artful investor |
