03/10/2012 17:15 | Daily volume of 100.8 million shares (out of 438 million shares in issue)! Looking forward to the announcement tomorrow. | john980
03/10/2012 15:42 | looks like the seller is clearing here imo, could well be on for a decent run now | empirestate
02/10/2012 18:19 | Daily volume of 25.6million shares! Didn't expect to see that... langostino: Many thanks for the link bisiboy: good point. I don't know how bad this market is but look at what they say about the Seafront Villas (on page 12): they sold to a group of people who will try to find end buyers for 4 of the Villas and if they manage to sell over and above some price level then Dolphin is entitled to a 35% profit participation... The way I read this is that Dolphin failed to find an end buyer for the 4 villas and now they are paying EUR 2m to some middleman to help them out... | john980
02/10/2012 14:45 | Over 20m sold in the last few hours. This stock is more liquid than I thought. I suppose selling at 21p to get back in at the placing price with no stamp duty is worth it in those quantities. I want a few more too. But 23.25p? See how it looks tomorrow. | langostino
28/9/2012 18:36 | would it not have been better to sell some of their properties at half price to raise funds (i.e less dilutive to shareholders) rather than the placing. | bisiboy
28/9/2012 15:20 | Thanks for the TPOG info langostini. Have to say I thought me too buyers from the USA would be all over DCI at 2.30 ho hum. No discount control mechanism hmmm partly the reason I prefer closed end funds and liquidations where possible. That said TPO's results are simply light years ahead of my own so I'm probably not qualified to be too snooty about them. | praipus
28/9/2012 14:23 | There is a UK investment trust Third Point Offshore TPOG which acts as a feeder fund for the master fund. Their web page is regularly updated with monthly and quarterly reports. DL used to write the quarterly reports until about a year ago and they were always worth a read. Still in the archive. I hold some TPOG but the trouble is they appear to have no discount control mechanism so share price lags fund price. Very solid investment IMO | langostino
28/9/2012 11:42 | I've started a post on the HFT Hedge Fund Tracking thread dedicated to Dan Loeb's Third Point. To be honest I dont know much about him if you can let me know there of any of his other holdings I will add their charts to the Third Point post for our mutual benefit. | praipus
28/9/2012 10:39 | I am a big Dan Loeb/Third Point fan. They are very significant in trying to turn Yahoo round and high-profile in the hedge fund world. They will very be hands-on - in a positive way. I have bought a few today and will top up after the placement becomes effective next week, just in case share price moves towards placement price, although I suspect it will be the other way round. | langostino
27/9/2012 09:39 | Looks like Third Point is getting a great deal... | john980
27/9/2012 07:46 | placement at 19.5p, no wonder they didn't let the share price improve, results look good | empirestate
17/9/2012 09:44 | no wonder we were stalling a bit, now we have to get rid OAM's 3.6 million | empirestate
16/9/2012 02:19 | reckon Friday saw the last of the lloyds exit from this one so should see an RNS monday, would expect a continued rise now as the weight is off the sp, keep em peeled folks. | empirestate
13/9/2012 19:22 | expect the rise to continue to a more reasonable level like 50p | empirestate
11/9/2012 22:26 | we could be looking at a coiled spring job here. so it looks like the depression in the share price is primarily due to the weight of the lloyds exit position which is now down to 53 m. certainly looks like some one is snapping them up with that 5m going through with ease today. think i will pick meself up a few in the morning. GLA, Oh yes, half year report due this month by the looks of it. | empirestate
11/9/2012 21:51 | blimey, last time i was in these they were 40p ish, looks like a decent recovery from here with that nav | empirestate
07/9/2012 17:26 | John980 thats why I follow them and other active investors on the WAM thread. I can tell you from bitter experience it doesnt allways work out like that! It may be worth looking at the posts's I've dedicated to each of the active investors on the following thread. Before following PI's should consider what proportion of AUM the investor is allocating. Sometimes this is very revealing through being a much lower % than you might expect. | praipus
07/9/2012 17:10 | What I found interesting about Damille Investments II is the following: "In order to increase the probability of an Investee Company successfully implementing measures to optimise its balance sheet and align management and shareholder interests, the Company may seek either to exercise direct control of the Investee Company's board or to exert significant influence on the Investee Company's board." Let's see... | john980
