12/11/2014 08:52 | The whole statement is full of spin doctor words ... and promises. The most amazing is that they bought the Holyrood business (from Lord Ashcroft....) and then it has a REDUCTION in revenue at a time when it MUST have been more in the news than ever before. Surely advertising around the time of the referendum should have been good - and lots of opportunities with the world focussed on Scotland.... And also - £75k on consultants tucked away in "non-trading". That looks like money well spent. Onward and downward | 4124
01/10/2014 22:05 | So long as the share capital is kept tight and Ashcroft avoids issuing zillions of new shares as some so-called "entrepreneurs" presently do, then it can fly. Ashcroft is old school: he was around when the stockmarket had proper "shell" operations, like the ones that Jim Slater's disciples engineered. | coolen
01/10/2014 21:39 | This stock illustrates the sheer unpredictability of AIM I held from the HVX days and indeed my first purchase was 60p+; sold out a few months back at 2.5p as I needed capital losses and I thought briefly about buying back in my ISA. I did not as wold never have thought it would be 6p+ let alone 5p+. | cerrito
01/10/2014 15:25 | if the chairman purchased shares there can be nothing afoot otherwise it would be insider trading. imho. but nice to see it going up for a change. 10000 shares is only £500 | haroldthegreat
01/10/2014 10:54 | Anyone who bought these 3 months ago (and there won't be many of them!) will be feeling quite happy. How long before we find out the motivating factor, I wonder? I doubt that it's based solely on trading, so some sort of deal or major stake build seems likely. | boadicea
26/9/2014 10:59 | AGM Notice. So the ex CEO and FD has resigned.... and the Chairman has resigned after less than 6 months. To be replaced by the Ashcroft nominee. So no Independent Chairman anymore - and the FD also off. Looks like a bit of a meltdown ... no doubt when it does, it will be swept up for a low value and the small shareholders will be nowhere. No explanations of any of the resignations - was anyone at the AGM - did they say anything ? | 4124
24/9/2014 22:24 | agreed steady purchases but why? what has the company to offer - the price reflects the value of the present business - so where is the new value coming from | vino
24/9/2014 14:13 | Interesting - Steady buying, often in £10k+ lots, in a very thin market which inevitably causes the price to react and it will continue to do so increasingly strongly if the buyer(s) persist as sellers are clearly thin on the ground. | boadicea
22/9/2014 09:21 | Steadily edging up - the ask is now 5.5p. In last week's trades, one of those saw 250k shrs taken @ 5.25p. f | fillipe
15/7/2014 14:35 | Getting squeezy here.... | chrisdgb
14/7/2014 11:56 | Still nice to see comment on this sized company in the FT, must be good for the profile...small tick up today.. | chrisdgb
12/7/2014 23:18 | Had the following write up in the FT today Mentioned that the shares have fallen from 12p in 2012..what about since they were 60p odd 8/9 years ago Not in these at the moment and have no immediate plans to go back in quote High quality global journalism requires investment. Email ftsales.support@ft.c Shares in Dods, the Westminster-based publisher since 1832 of the Dods Parliamentary Companion and other political compendiums, rose 14 per cent earlier this week after it announced its full-year results to March, writes Kate Burgess. It said like-for-like earnings, before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, rose 50 per cent to £400,000 on revenues of £2.5m, up 17 per cent on the year before. The stated pre-tax loss was £1.5m against losses of £10.6m in the 15 months to March 2013. The company, which counts Tory donor Lord Ashcroft as its biggest shareholder, has been through a period of radical restructuring and several board changes while at the same time buying magazines, such as The Holyrood Magazine and The House. The Aim-quoted shares have fallen since their highs of 12p in 2010 and now trade at about 3p. | cerrito
10/7/2014 15:03 | Fair point about the house broker angle, just interested in what they had to say really. | chrisdgb
10/7/2014 09:52 | Cenkos are the "house broker" and work on most of Lord A's companies. So a BUY rating is hardly a shock. The results were a little better than might have been expected - but nothing wonderful. Will be interesting to see the full results when they come out as I think that it will show (unless really well hidden) that the acquired publications have remained a disaster and a complete waste of money / potential albatross to the business. I hope that the £150k spent on strategy consultants resulted in a strategy that is clear and can be communicated - but would suggest that they probably reported that the business should concentrate on the data/monitoring and training bits and get out of print publications asap. Which would be £150k spent to state the obvious ..... | 4124
10/7/2014 09:39 | I see Cenkos have a BUY rating on the stock today............... | chrisdgb
09/7/2014 08:04 | Hoping for some positive press comment now....here's a start from London South East (?).. Dods Group is doing well after it reported a sharply narrowed loss, higher revenue, and said it would continue transforming the publishing and events operations to push up profitability. | chrisdgb
08/7/2014 08:06 | Especially with 2015 being a General Election year...... | chrisdgb
08/7/2014 08:04 | I do hope you are correct | solarno lopez
08/7/2014 08:02 | A move back to at least 5p is justified, as this company continues to recover.. | chrisdgb
08/7/2014 07:50 | Net cash more than half the market cap.... | chrisdgb
08/7/2014 07:49 | Final results out today, just going through the detail, current year started ahead of last year....all very positive.. | chrisdgb
08/7/2014 07:05 | Same old story.. jam tomorrow | solarno lopez
04/7/2014 08:18 | Can't be too long now, until we get the final results, hopefully positive, with clear strategy..... | chrisdgb
25/6/2014 12:57 | you have a hope | solarno lopez |
