Results Monday, promotion from no man's land to ftse250 early September and another dividend late September. There must be an institution short of cash weighing this down at present and yet I have seen no announcements of reductions in major shareholdings . Just about everyone on the threads , broker reports and tipsters agree that the share price should be significantly higher . Many must be scratching their heads here wondering why it is not, as am I , but whilst the dividend is around 10% and more stable than Shell or BP I will continue to hold long term. I'm umming and ahhing about 100k of these too. Bottled it a couple of times. For the Sipp, if not withholding. Shame really, I'd have liked them in the isa.

I don't remember any paperwork but certainly in my SIPP no tax is withheld on DGOC dividends. Same for SPSY, no tax in SIPP, 15% tax in ISA.

15% is correct for trading/ISA but if you hold enough for the paperwork to be worthwhile I have read that you can get the dividends gross in a SIPP. My SIPP is with AJBell and supposedly they can do it for me but my shares are in a trading account and not enough divi to warrant moving them. I just was interested to know if it was actually possible in case I add.

I only had 10k before in a trading account not sipp - I think they withheld 15% - would that be correct?

Dunderhead, have you managed to get the dividends gross, or do you still suffer the 15% WHT?

Thank you for your comprehensive reply Spangle, I have just been reading through the last 400 posts which seemed to centre round the financial treatment of the decommissioning costs. I think that I am satisfied the way they are treated in the accounts at any rate. The share buyback of 45,997 shares at a price starting out at £1.15 at the 5th June 2019 and ending on 13th Feb 2020 at 84.662p seemed a little odd when the company went on to issue 64,280,500 new shares at 108p on the 12th May I have no idea if these extra shares issued averaged at less than the ones sold but the fund raising incurred costs of £3.3 million. I know it’s easy to look back with hindsight but the whole episode didn’t seem very prudent. Rusty seems to come over well as someone who knows what he is about and doe’s give a credible explanation of why he listed on AIM not in the US. The only topic which didn’t come up anywhere that I could find was the political dimension. Trump is very pro fossil fuels (or at least he is this minute) what difference Biden getting elected might make I’m not sure. 3800

This company is a buyer of distressed assets at 50 cents on the dollar - or less and then adds efficiencies of scale. That's why they are doing so well and that's how they can pay such dividends. It's a good business model.

Thanks Spangle. Those are the questions that I been unable to find answers to and would be more comfortable if I they were known. Rusty does come across well and seems to be on the ball so fears are probably unwarranted. If we had those answers I suppose we would be 140+. Maybe that in itself is enough reason to add.
