Last year the results were on the last Friday of October, this year that day falls on 27 October. 4 weeks to get the USA distribution deal announced? Just in time for the Christmas sales. I wonder if we are stockpiling RedLeg and Blackwoods in anticipation?

Squeeze/competition been on in retail generally for ages.
Distil need to increase volume, whilst breaking even.

just meant they will shave to the bone if they like a product and undercut all whether retail, on-line or whatever

But Wallmart and Toys "R" Us are retail businesses suffering from on-line competitions nothing to do with discounts.

Yes ... the discount price I see as a positive as Amazon must see this as a winner and as such will be happy to undercut the rest.

Just ask Wallmart and Toys "R" Us

Redleg is currently Best Seller in Rums on Amazon UK! And No 2 Best Seller in Spirits. And I'm currently sipping some of it together with ginger ale. Damn delicious stuff...

Thanks for that both - like me, you're thinking about a minimum valuation on say a £50m sale. I think that's sensible, plus whatever value is elsewhere.

P.S. We have a load of tax credits to put against any tax from the sale of a brand.

Suneday, if we had just received £50m from the sale of a brand, say RedLeg, then the MCap would be £50m plus the value attributed to the other brands. Suppose the market thought that if RedLeg was worth £50m then Blackwoods is worth at least £30m, the MCap is then £80m plus any value attributed to the other brands. That then gives a MCap equal to NAV which, for a profitable company with no debt, should be the minimum valuation.

>Suneday - you are absolutely right - this is a very good thread for discussion and there is no need for anything to get personal. Your ''in for free'' approach is perfectly respectable and very widely used. But there is another way. I have a large core holding here and I am confidently keeping that for the foreseeable future. I fully expect it to be big bucks eventually. But this is a news driven share and, when there is no news to drive it, the share price drifts backwards. No problems, just a lack of mkt interest. So, the other way I mentioned is to trade a few. Just look at the shape of that chart. In addition to my core holding I acquire trading shares as and when the price appears to be favourable. Recently, I have been adding again and will consider selling these when there is an appropriate share price rise. According to my notes I have sold eight times during the last 12mths. I get bored, so action suits my personality and in my experience a bit of carefully considered trading is capable of making a lot more profit than sitting on a free holding. Not criticizing, just saying.
GL, pete
