Quite. Each to his own, but do people really sit on 100% profit, as I've read on this one, waiting for an RNS, specific content unknown?

Funny how no one was talking about 18 months being the norm in negotiations months ago when people were on here claiming news was due any day. Where's the balance? Why were those posters told that Q4 was more likely.

The US has never been an easy market to break into but assuming things are moving along DIS will want to ship something for Xmas/NYr sales in which case there is time to signal that in Oct Interims.

Like others here, I have had my periods of impatience with the speed of progress but the record shows that the BoD are doing a great job. I have been into DIS for rather a long time since Blavod days and bt at all sorts of prices from 0.7p upwards. I admit to having traded some of them from time to time but I don't touch my main holding.

I have enormous confidence in the medium to long term future of DIS and I don't normally say that lightly about any company.

I guess a few investors leaving on technical grounds believing we are struggling to break recent high.

And then all they have to do is sell it!

Getting the right deal and then the distributor lining the retailers up takes time. Old article here but system still prevails. Various other stuff on USA 3 tier system on Internet.

Better to have no deal than a lousy deal.

Listening to Stephen O'Hara at Opti it takes about 18 months to get these deals sorted if you do not role over, otherwise you can do then quicker. Rather slower and better returns than quick and being shafted.

It's been 'soon' for months. You not concerned Haggis? Back in July you posted that you'd expect a deal by the end of August 'at the latest' to catch the Xmas period. Real possibility we are going to miss out this year.

Does that indicate they have market sensitive news to release soon? ;-) ;-)

hope so Pete ... they finally replied this afternoon advising "at this time they are unable to release market sensitive news and as soon as we have any information we will update our website and release an RNS"

We had a 1st qtr TU on 7 July, so it seems reasonable that we would have to wait about another 3mths for a 2nd qtr TU. Interims should be around 29 Oct so probably a TU either last day or so of Sept or, more likely, early Oct to signal half yr progress. imo all this is plainly to close for them to be prepared to anticipate the TU by revealing anything right now. GL all, pete

You start to wonder if there is an impasse in negotiations. As you say rodders it's been over a year since the nod was given to sell in the US and I can't believe they went to the trouble of getting approval just to sit on it for months. I think it's fair to assume that talks have been on going for 16 months with no deal agreed. Admittedly I haven't been involved in many US distribution deals but it doesn't seem to me that it's going well.

As mentioned ... not losing patience with the share price just wondering about the RedLeg US launch. In fact I'm pleased with the share price which has done well without news on the US.
I have said the same many times on here recently.

That said approval for sale in the US was given 16 months ago, so far from impatient and there can be no complaint if investors simply want to know what is happening on this part of their strategy.

It's not in the interest of the company to anticipate events so we have to wait for the official announcement.
I prefer this company to simply build a firm foundation for the future rather than worry about the share price from day to day.

well My emails to DIS over the last few weeks asking if there will be an update on the RedLeg US launch have been ignored.

I guess perhaps it may be close that it will be market sensitive so cannot divulge but I would expect some sort of response at least.

I'm not losing patience, just asking as the company themselves indicated this was happening and they would obviously like to catch the xmas trade.

Just one product in the portfolio is worth more than share capital.
It is going to take time. Be patient. Happy to hold.

No knowing which way the price will go initially, but I assume investors realise there will be a profit in it for the distributors and therefore an implied cost to Distil.
