06/7/2011 10:11 | Very quiet on this board but for anyone interested, Chinese company Jinchuan have trumped Vale's bid for African copper miner, Metorex. Obviously Metorex is an established producer and on a vastly different scale to DME but it does show that there is still appetite for takeovers of copper miners .... best rgds dm | dm1066

29/6/2011 16:22 | Having watched these for a while I've finally got myself aboard today with a few for my isa. The Greek bailout should hopefully stabilise the markets, copper price has move up well today and with the recent finance news and drilling results this will hopefully be a good investment for me, along with my other copper play RMM. A slight discount to closing Oz price to. | bushtuckaman

03/5/2011 09:28 | So why the 6p drop today? Driven by the price of copper? | jonbvn

19/4/2011 21:13 | results were good, no problems that i can see, everything going to plan with lots more to come... there is so much potential here it is unreal! the markets meanwhile are a little nervous of the US debt problem and the possible economic implications, but we all knew the situation was bad and that they will end up printing dollars so nothing new... in fact it is an even greater reason to invest in real tangible assets like gold, copper and silver! only one year to production from boseto, and only weeks to results from ophion drilling results... "The Ophion prospect is approximately 40 kilometres away from the Boseto plant site. The initial discovery Ophion prospect drill assay results were published in November 2010. A programme of eight diamond core holes, drilled as follow-up to the successful initial discovery, was completed in the March quarter. A second set of eight holes commenced along strike to the south-west with a third set of eight to follow in due course. Preliminary logging indicates that there are several mineralized intervals at Ophion, although further work is required to confirm the geological interpretation. The first assay results from this programme are expected to be reported in Q2..." | excellance

31/3/2011 18:20 | s-f and chip many thanks for taking the time to put your comments on here. Certainly on 6th April i will transfer monies and utilise fully my ISA allowance. Due to my circumstances, a change being likely from employed to self employed. I will continue to explore further and not rush into a SIPP. I have 4 pensions 1 personal and 2 small company ones both money purchase and a section 32 buy out, so lots of reading. Cheers guys. J | jhanson
31/3/2011 01:36 | jhanson, I prefer the flexibility and complete control of ISA accounts as I am able to move things around at will and ultimately intend to pass stocks over to my children. I do have a SIPP account but prefer not to do much with it because it would otherwise lock in too much cash for the longer term. However, a SIPP does offer an alternative home for non-ISA'ble stocks. It really depends on ones situation regarding other pensions and also ones ongoing tax liabilities - everyone is different! Chip | chipperfrd |
