At the AGM on the 27th of June shareholders are to be asked to vote on a change of name to BASE GROUP. This change of name will be more in line with its current business of a SPORTS AGENCY.

With a number of deals expected in THE FOOTBALL WORLD to be made towards the end of this month and beyond then the shareholders of this company should benefit if players like HARRY KEWELL and MARCUS BENT move on.

The share price has had a little run of late, but could well take off again on any positive news. In IMHO it looks like good news in the near future for BASE GROUP. DYOR

World Sports Group are apparently also on the aquisition trail. Maybe we will see some of the much talked about consolidation soon.

If so who are the likely winners and losers?

a 200k buy has started to turn this around at present shows up as oversold and another move upwards. With the world cup now starting moves could be afoot to bring new star names on board. imho

Priced dipped another 5% this morning on early selling but only for about 5 minutes and then recovered. Good sign.

Yes, see no reason to disagree with points that you both make and this "bolt on" phrase has been used more than once,suggesting as you say D/S small(er) acquisitions. G.S. is on record as saying that they have to engineer the price back to the Ferrum level and that football was not the only area in which he wanted cover. However,since he made these comments TWO bearish issues have happened.... 1st. the boxing fiasco and 2nd. the unbelievable WIE share sale. The latter does concern me,although he appears quite sanguine about it. However,as you have said in the past D/S... he's a clever lad so the Midlands Mafia are staying put although I read them a touch lower yet. If eleven trades (ten of which were sales)... total value £5309 can move the stock 5% lower ... the jobbers ain't short .... in fact I would guess that they are shaking out the "iffy" holders.

last couple of days has seen the price come down to a level when buying could restart. My chart shows that it has hit the bottom line of its recent run.
tomorrow will test it. could well top up myself. IMHO DYOR

Sold mine as well, out for a profit, just annoyed because lack of news, and can't see much more apart from acquisitons. (not a bad thing obviously)
Cableguy00 Thought about SCO, but it's all over the shop, very aggresive at the moment with some random spreads in the afternoons. FFA is an intresting one or a bounce on OOM.

Got rid of mine today and went for SCO 'cos I felt it a better proposition due to the de-regulation of the 192 directory enquiry numbers - DYOR & Good Luck with DTL, hopefully I'll be back soon

There is no doubt in my mind that they have to grow the share price! and i think like yourself i am quite happy to wait!!

would that be a problem ds? as i see it we can either grow through aquisition or become part of a bigger group by being bought out. to be perfectly honest i see it as the board getting us back to 2p and then waiting for someone to come along and swallow DTL up at a premium. i might be wrong and sincerely hope that we grow on our own, but time will tell. what do you and Om think?

OMERTA-agree,i think they said they were interested in small bolt on aquisitions so i would not expect anything to large...also strategic alliances with other agents....one thing i will add is that if they are not careful they may be swallowed themselves as there are a couple of bigger fish looking on !!

TO350 Hi, No ...I know nothing new. Was just pointing out that the trend in the stock suggested to me that nothing from the company was imminent. They run out of steam in low volume after a statement has been made. BUT I'm with D/S on the issue of consolidation in the sector and therefore they could spring a supprise at any point ... suspend pending etc,etc.
Do you and D/S agree with this >>>>> the company's paper is too low for them to use it in any significant acquisition.???
