Hello Idioterna.

I also have a small holding when compared to 3/4 years ago. There is always the possibility of another bid, even though the last one failed due to a black hole in the pension fund. With the last bid pitched at 150p, anything around 120/130 would probably be considered, with the other 20p or so left for filling in the black hole.

I would guess that current weakness in the share price could be due to the further outbreak of F&M in England. Hopefully, it will be contained within the restriction zone.

Could be Besbury - I also rejoined the fray a few days ago, don't really see much downside from here. Might be stuck with little but the dividend over the next 18 months, but that ain't too bad. Just a small position this time around.

Is this by any chance the ex-John Magnier-Acomita stock?

I know the company pretty well having been in and out several times since their IPO @170p in June 1993, and providing me with a useful net gain a couple of years ago, when I bought 75k at an average of 50p and sold between 120 and 136. All on the back of John Magnier's Acomita.

With the interim divi held and yielding a little over 5%, I feel it is worth a few at this price.

Not a lot has changed since the bid at 150p earlier this year, even though it fell through due to the pension fund black hole.

Time of course will tell. O^O

Just Goldman and Lehman shifting on the shares they gought from Acomita.
They have to complete this before normal demand can assert itself

WOW, I don't think I have seen a BB go so quiet. What has happened to the 150p mooted value of this share , is the pension question an impending crippler for DVO or is there something else going on here. Give me some hope; please!

Acomita are shipping out at a goodly profit because they were behind the failed buyout.
All down to the CEO now to settle whether there really is "jam tomorrow"

If not somebody will move in and put them out of their misery.
Great each way bet at these price levels, but patience needed

Just can't get my head around where this company is going. Engines appear to have stalled 2 years ago. Another dip in profits and what looks like Acomita abandoning ship. Management's biggest effort in the past few years appears to have been repelling borders in the takeover bid.

bye Bye Acomita then
At least the trading statement will clarify the situation for the new investors who are interested in buying the Acomita stock

Don't really understand why this share is out of favour.

A private equity house was prepared to pay 150p but couldn't agree with the trustees of the pension scheme on a top up to the pension scheme to compensate for the perceived increased risk that gearing would bring.

Good value over time awaits

I invested in Devro when the share price was very low (sub 50p), but traded out at 120 a couple of years ago. I have kept a watchful eye on the share price but have been put off by other factors.. I recently invested in a small scale production venture in Scandinavia but Devro never even bothered to reply to our mail.. at that point I realised the company lacked any ambition so it dropped off my watch-list. Apparently there is a bid... I hope they have more ambition than the prsent management.

Further thought on today,s trades and price drop. 76 transactions,a quarter were buys with an overall trading quantity of approx 1250 each for Buys/sells. Surely this small quantity should not have moved the price as it did.

Devro has been a dreadful investment for most people over the last few years. There must be a handful of private shareholders who are at least interested to discuss the problems/future surely, or am I wrong?.

I wonder if there is a chance of someone else having a go to try and resolve the pensions problem.

Today's announcement was predictable by the price movement of the last few days. I just hope that someone in the LSE/FSA or wherever conducts an investigation into what can now be seen as insider dealing.

After all the talk in the weekend press about shareprice manipulation , you would think the company would have to make a statement straight away if the bid had been pulled, or of course those crafty little mm's are doing their job and getting a few cheap additions , we will find out pretty soon I feel
