01/12/2004 16:09 | I have been searching all day kitkat, but can't find any news that could have caused this movement in the share price I agree 150p is now on the cards, possibly following the prelims in March. I am however looking forward even further, possibly this time next year, for the figure of 170p. This is where I first came in with the Devro IPO in June 1993. I did of course catch the falling knife, without injury I am pleased to say, during the dark days for Devro when F&M took it's toll almost two years ago, when the price dropped to 40p. I dumped what value remained of my dot.com shares and switched everything into DVO, following John Magnier's example, with his investment vehicle, Acomita. I have sold enough to take care of this years CG allowance, but still hold 50k at an average of 53p, as the core holding of my portfolio. We are off next Tuesday to Singapore enroute to spend Christmas in New Zealand, all down to the good fortune we have had with our Devro shareholding. In order to keep in touch with "events", we go armed with a new laptop computer, all programmed to take appropriate action during our absence from the UK. All I have to remember is that the LSE opens at 8pm and not 8am:~)) Regards B | besbury
01/12/2004 15:19 | nice juicy buys today 10 : 1 buy : sell ratio no idea either Besbury - but reckon we could see 150p without a problem | kitkat
01/12/2004 09:08 | Good morning kitkat. Yes, I have been trying to find out why, as this is most unusal for DVO in the absence of any news! I wonder if we are about to hear of the completion of the sale of surplus land at Moodiesburn | besbury
01/12/2004 08:42 | we've got an excellent chart breakout here | kitkat
25/11/2004 07:52 | The good news this morning is that tests for BSE on one animal in the US have proved negative. (Report on Bloomberg) The bad news is the weakening US $ v the £ sterling. "Experts" are forecasting a 2$ £ before too long. The weak greenback is already having an adverse impact on British companies earnings in the US. | besbury
18/11/2004 21:35 | It is just possible we have a black cloud looming on the horizon. An announcement tonight from the USA suggests they have their second case of BSE. It will be several days before there is positive confirmation one way or the other. It is almost a year since the US reported their first case of BSE and Japan still have an embargo on beef imports from the USA. It also resulted in DVO sourcing their raw material for collagen, (Cow/Steer/Bullock, hide) for their US manufacturing plant outside the USA, which added additional costs. Hopefully, this will turn out to be a load of old bull:~)) | besbury
18/11/2004 19:04 | Yes the feature in the times was very interesting, didn't know anything about their activities and looks like a reasonable growth prospect. I see that about 2.5m shares changed hands to day, some big sells, but nary a quiver in the buy/sell. Does this mean mm's are keen to get hold of stock, is it smoke and mirrors, or some other explanation. | lynas
18/11/2004 11:49 | Don't hold stock in Devro, but do hold stock in Alltracel. Interested to hear views on the earlier agreement between Devro and Alltracel into the research and development of ingredient delivery systems for cholesterol management for functional food market using m-doc technology. (Alltracel's patented tecnology) Trial results on m-doc's efficacy in reducing cholesterol uptake into the bloodstream are likely to be positive. So that a sausage skin containing anti cholesterol properties should go down a treat. How do Devro holders view these developments; would welcome comments. | 06015197
14/11/2004 20:10 | Yes kitkat I agree. As DVO is the core holding in my portfoilo I was quite astonished & delighted to see them featured in the Times this morning. I feel both analyst's contributions were accurate and fairly balanced. I particularly like the bit about DVO having to ration porcine collagen to their customers. I am looking forward to a comment, or perhaps two, from idioterna sometime next week. Regards B | besbury
14/11/2004 17:01 | lookig good for the future with DVO tipped as hold and Buy Besbury | kitkat

12/11/2004 14:37 | wow - hello Idioterna - haven't seen you around in ages still trading? | kitkat
12/11/2004 14:27 | Bit of a late reply, but I am also hoping to see the land sale concluded in the next 2 weeks. I am not too worried about the strength of the £ vs $ since the £ has lost considerable ground against all the other European currencies so the consolidation in eastern europe appears to have been timed superbly. I for one am expecting cracking results from eastern europe. | idioterna
