Hindsight - Thanks. I've been out all day and before posting I rang, but got the usual machine and left a message. You've seen my post, but they haven't responded on here or telephoned me, but it is working now.

Once again many thanks for taking the trouble to post, it's more than advfn have done and this is their 'Official DDE support thread' according to the header.

Ken for info its working ok here, hasnt dropped all day but before you blaim your pc , from experience I have found the issue tends to be advfn rather than ones own pc

I can't log on to the dde feed. It says 'authentication failed please try again', but there is no problem reported on here!

I still can't connect. We pay for a 24/7 service and for anybody such as myself with a full time job, the weekend is to only time we get to make changes to our spreadsheets.

If we can't check those changes, it's a week's trading lost!

Perhaps you're planning to give everyone a refund to cover the failure, which is getting more and more regular.

They rang me back at 08:25 and told me they have been answering the phone since 08:00. I originally rang at about 07:55 and waited in queue position one for half an hour. He tried and got the same message and said he would get it fixed, but he didn't know why it had taken me half an hour to get the telephone answered.

Perhaps I should see if I can find an alternative source.
