29/9/2005 16:43 | Today's RNS just clears the very high bar needed to trigger a DCA post here I feel, so I suggest it should be read by anyone interested in a truly high quality medium term investment. And check the share price graph above too. Hew PS for those unable to access RNS's (should you really be investing?) it announces that the way has been cleared for growing the US market (already entered and 10x bigger than ours. | hew
21/7/2005 14:26 | Detica Group Plc 21 July 2005 Thursday 21 July 2005 Detica Group plc 2005 Annual General Meeting Detica Group plc ('Detica' or 'the Group'), the IT consulting firm that specialises in the delivery of intelligence systems, held its 2005 Annual General Meeting at its London offices at 2 Arundel Street, London, WC2R 3AZ at 2.00pm today. During his opening address, Chris Conway, Chairman of Detica made the following statement: 'The current financial year has started well. Our Government business in particular has begun the year strongly and we expect continued high growth levels in this sector in both the UK and US. We anticipate that the requisite approvals to allow the US Government to contract directly with Detica Inc will be forthcoming later in our first half and in the meantime our UK business is fulfilling US client demand. We also anticipate robust growth in the current financial year in our Commercial business where we have seen a particularly strong start from our Telecoms unit. In June 2005 StreamShield Networks, our internet content security subsidiary, delivered, as planned, the first Content Security Gateway unit to a mid-sized internet service provider for trials and has since despatched a further unit for evaluation by a global telecoms equipment company. The Board remains optimistic about the prospects for this business and revenues are expected in the second half of the current financial year. The outlook for our business is positive and we remain confident in our ability to deliver significant growth over the coming year.' 16/7/2005 00:21 | Right, the challenge is on... find me another share that has made more than DCA in he last 6 weeks that HASNT had a BB comment. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is.... DCA holders do it silently!!! Screamer | screamer
31/5/2005 17:56 | This really seems to be under everyones radar. For those that look to the future the recent results could hardly read more strongly. Their core business was excellent in both Gov't and Commercial areas, and they used the profits to invest in something really exciting about which they are talking to key organisations on a global basis. Early progress is anticipated. Citywire has given it good coverage - just see their three 2005 articles. Some shrewdies are in too. Lack of interest here is really surprising - what more do people want? A solid basic business which itself is in a growth area (10th consecutive year of increased Rev and pbt pre goodwill) and a new prospect (proven) that must be one of the most exciting around, with global customers ready and waiting. Just read the Results. Anyway I quadrupled my holding this morning - so you'd better see the above eulogy in that light! And of course I give no advice - I don't need to - just read the Results! | hew
02/2/2005 09:16 | Excellent news, btw Hew, any ideas why these boards are so quiet? Screamer | screamer
02/2/2005 08:37 | See Citywire's very +ve report yesterday. "..... StreamShield.....on further discussions with the company [we] think it could be a bigger deal than many may have realised." "..could just be a significant re-rating if StreamShield were to sign up a major player any time soon." | hew
29/12/2004 13:44 | A little upward action at last for this quality company, a series of smallish buys. Has it been tipped somewhere besides the IC? | hitchinhoncho
26/11/2004 15:20 | Jeezus!! has this share got a pulse!!! Do you have to be security cleared to participate on this board. Perhaps the weekend papers will start to elaborate on how/where money is going to be pumped into the proposed new National Security services e.g. SOCA. Doesn't take much figuring out to draw the conclusion that such a new setup will require a substantial investment in I.T. systems. I would be extremely surprised if Detica wasn't in the frame for a significant proportion of that business. Any thoughts anyone? Anyone else reading this, hello!!! Screamer | screamer

16/9/2004 16:24 | Hupper - I moved out of SRF briefly this am, but back in this afternoon once i found out that Detica are using SurfControl URL database. I think that SRF will push decisively through £6 shortly on the back of newsflow (product upgrades, introduction of mobile filtering, GTA and Detica deals, launch of appliance on Oct. 4th and share buybacks - $1.1million this morning) | explorer88

16/9/2004 12:03 | Anyone one here swapped from Surfcontrol to Detica ? I have but I'm looking to get back into Surfcontrol at a lower price to hedge my bets. | hupper
16/9/2004 10:01 | Lots of interest now ! Sold out of Surfcontrol and into Detica on the Stream Shield announcement. | hupper
24/5/2004 12:12 | It will do just fine....great share. S | smarm
24/5/2004 11:11 | Solid results from Detica and a minute share price rise. Why is this quality company so off the radar. It's got a good business, loads of cash and even a PEG, which means four years consecutive growth. And it's in the security business in these nervous days with a lot of work for the Brit govt and more coming up in the USA. | hitchinhoncho |
