GumptionDo you mean MoPower?Spectacularly bad investment, but not by me so bullet dodgedCan't work how much Nigel put in to that one but he will have lost almost all of whatever it was: listed at 100p and needed rescuing at 5p in months. Now stable at less than 1p and Keen jnr was stood down in short orderLooks like there was a massive profits warning just weeks after listing. Surprised there wasn't more of a scandal as sounds like AIM at its worstMrC

Janatha - yes yes and yes. Nigel is well Overdue his P45 from this company - it needs a breath of fresh air (new NEDs snd Chair) - not the stale tripe he has been forcing throughZ maybe cast an eye over how much money Nigel put into his son’s ill fated ventures. It puts his judgement at question.

Agreed.

Nigel, who in fairness has topped up before and now owns 10% +, could buy another couple of million and,as you say, so could some of the NEDs, as a sign of confidence in the company going forward.

Maybe John Reilly might step in again as he was buying at much higher levels and DM has now delivered as promised.

I think you mean the BOD which includes some very wealthy people. Management are a lot cheaper than their 'friends and neighbours' over at LIDApart from the Chairman, no NED has bought any since last fundraise so about time they put up or pushed offMrC

Would be nice if management gave a vote of confidence from their well remunerated pockets and hoovered up a few million shares.

Cheetah were loss making and still raising money. DEMG are in an infinitely better position. Plus ODM has a strong evidence base. Plus they have developed a platform which does all forms of monitoring which increases the utility.

I am not sure they need to prove anything more. Anyway an acquirer would expect to increase sales with enhanced marketing spend.

Morning, something just hit me with regard to the recent option purchases. There have been 4 tranches bought in the last 2 month and whether they belong to Ewan is open for debate, if the company is being touted for sale then I believe the recent buys are being made ahead of the announcement of a bid for the company, making sure the BOD holdings are maximised. Just a thought!!

BigTNot if you are starting marketing a medtech company for sale: you need differentiators and comparatorsDEMG has plenty of the first, Cheetah provides a bang up to date example of the secondDoesn't mean all PIs will bite but it will only take a few to get this movingMrC

Before you go to investor shows...you need to increase sales and cash generation so that you have an improving financial story to tell.

GumptionInteresting. Had a look at BQE where Keen was chairman. share price when he left was 170p. Two and a bit years later, BQE was sold at 590p a shareThat's a three and a half times increaseHmmmmmmMrC

I reluctantly have to agree re Chairman Mr C, seems there has been plenty of CEOs over the yeArs, variously lining their pockets with gold or - perhaps more recently - lead, but the consistent has always been Nigel and that hasn’t been a roaring success yet, has it? Time for a change at the very top, and maybe we’ll finally see some return.

Yes, but if step 1 was to get business to cash positive, step 2 should be to correct current valuation of the Company. Much easier to sell it from 3p to 5p a share than 1.35p!!

Certainly don't need more snouts in the trough! If this indeed is their course, they just need to get on with selling the company for a reasonable price. I am sure this is what Andy Mears is doing.....

NobbyAgreed but it is also up to the company to make things happenWould hope that Andy is out meeting some institutions this week and will also attend some retail investor events to spread the news but no way of us knowing if this is being done properlyWould be good to see some positive action to bring in new buyers but I note that they have done away with the financial PRs who used to organize PI briefingsI don't know why they have two firms of brokers and would like to see them replace both with a new firm that knows the sector and US valuations: institutions will buy into a >5x return in less than a yearDefinitely time to slim down and refresh the Board to inject some urgency. Start with a new Chairman or, if Nigel Keen really can't be budged, a new Deputy ChairMrC

Very quiet here considering it seems likely that effectively the company is up for sale. Cheetah, a loss making company with no evidence base for it’s products, was sold at ten times turnover. DEMG with an excellent evidence base for ODM are currently at about 1.5 times turnover....

"they still hold 20m+ but with the issue of the option shares recently their % holding has decreased, they haven’t sold a single share!!"

This is why these vast and bloated shareholding-notification forms are completely useless.

They could put it in far fewer lines, and at the same time make it blindingly obvious, like this:

OLD: 20,424,731 (4.15% of 492,162,193)
NEW: 20,424,731 (3.95% of 517,368,109)

--> Agreed

Looks like the real problem here is DEMG got caught between two stools and raised too much money to keep UK markets happy but nothing like enough to compete in the US

Of course this may just be a transatlantic cultural difference, but it also explains why there are many, many times more big US medtech companies than British ones

--> So either you grow from the cash you generate (DEMG now) or you raise big pots of money US style. Given that later approach may be we should have been listed in the USA?

I had to read the RNS twice to realise what it was saying, and I guess all shareholders would like to know who's been selling! I'm hoping we might see a few buys before the weekend ??
