25 pence shortly and 50 pence before the 2018 year ends .

Pvee - the high street is dead.

A really cold snap in November & December is amazing for retail, especially if there is snow.

A really warm spell like now is also amazing for retail. People will be buying summer clothing & footwear like it’s going out of fashion.

The only doubt is whether it’s good for an ailing department store. I actually think it might be, contrary to those who are down on Debs and my previous thoughts.

It’s how much this can pull them up when they are clearly in a downward spiral - it may well be too little too late.

The results from M&S are not an obituary, on the contrary, dividend maintained should provide some support to the share price

lol am no weather expert but been in retail all my life.

Extreme good or bad weather is not good for retail.

Shops are dead on really nice days as people are in the garden or at the seaside ect or if its snowing or its really cold they stay in.

Cloudy or light rain is the best weather for retail as people are bored and looking for something to do.

The last set of results were put down to poor weather. Apparently now warm weather isn't good for sales either. Could some meteorological expert tell me which temperature will be the best time to buy and sell

And spare me the boring comments that the High St is dead please

It's not all doom and gloom on the high street as Urban Outfitters posts "record sales" in third quarter and announces it is to open its 30th UK store in the new £30 million Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham

Urban Outfitters is a must for the fashion conscious high street shopper.

Royal Wedding hit sales at John Lewis as I predicted would happen a few days ago.

Food was up at Waitrose which I predicted would happen but John Lewis down a sharp 6.3%

Marks is down a few % today presumably pending results tomorrow. The statement could knock bricks and mortar stores in sympathy.

I wouldn't want the be buying a retail stock immediately before Marks results.
