31/8/2017 10:54 | Not at Carefour the largest Frenh retailer which had a profit warning today, analysts say the group "lost its touch"! There is a case for bricks and mortar, but the business model is changing at a rapid pace, and for a time there will be less retailers needed on the High Street. Some will have to go and some will suffer the same fate as Woolworth, BHS, MFI, Comet. | simon templar qc
31/8/2017 10:38 | Montyhedge better very boring just like Simon not the saint templar many people love shopping sometimes the shop keepers are the only people they speak to every day. Please do your own research. | qantas
31/8/2017 09:00 | Does anyone actually buy stuff in shops, they are just showrooms now, go along see what you want go home order it cheaper on line. Bricks and mortar retailers are struggling. | montyhedge
30/8/2017 11:45 | john Lewis weekly sales figures out: Waitrose appear to be struggling once inflation is taken into account. John Lewis appear to be buking the trend on second half sales. | simon templar qc

30/8/2017 08:57 | New low for DEB now trading in the 30s - won't be long to wait for the 20s. | niggle
29/8/2017 17:38 | Makes you wonder that if MA did want out Who would want to buy his stake in this current retail environment. Perhaps a big short out there might take some ... Who knows ? All supposition anyway imho | ignoble
29/8/2017 17:32 | From a technical viewpoint the graph is pretty awful and where is the next support level if it goes sub 40? Also with Ashley holding so much stock there is the added risk he might sell out. Certainly one for the brave I think. | ltcm1
29/8/2017 15:33 | Retail sentiment is so low at the moment, seems Amazon and business rates perhaps killing things. | montyhedge
29/8/2017 15:31 | I think DEB is now very oversold at 40P. It has a long established good profit , and yes the exchange rate will have some impact but I think it is very cheap as a long term buy. | longfield123
29/8/2017 14:31 | Qantas Here is the article. | montyhedge
29/8/2017 14:14 | If it's monty the rumour is about BHS! | chinese investor
29/8/2017 13:18 | Rumours of a major high street chain, about to go under. Won't help sentiment in retail if they go. | montyhedge
26/8/2017 22:21 | FWIW Debs new store format in Stevenage appears to be a success. I expect some analysts to be invited to see the numbers and prospects in due course. My inside track source has reassured me the Sergio concept will work for Debs. The market will recognise this in due course and whilst Debs is not likely to make stellar gains any time soon the dividend looks safe IMV and once that's recognised the share price will recover. | stud-muffin
26/8/2017 14:43 | Guys the only thing that counts with retailing is net profit. You can forget book value. It's all about margin, turnover and managing your stock. And it's all about the picture going forward rather than the past. The position can change rapidly in retailing. I see Debs are having a 25% off everything event this weekend. Time to grab a bargain??? | ltcm1
25/8/2017 23:34 | Deb is like DFS....a permanent Sale sign on!...same with Carpetright!!... | diku
25/8/2017 20:40 | I must admit I am always seeing sales on at Debs too, and have been for the last 3 years. Yet results say that more full priced stock has been sold for the last 2 years. Perhaps the sales are simply more limited than the big red signs might lead customers (or amateur analysts) to believe? | edmundshaw
25/8/2017 17:36 | you are right foxy the same critics say the same about debs on the MKS thread despite not wanting too many sales Debs keeps having them and eroding margins. Reminds me of MFI almost a permanent sale on. The brands are dated. Sorry to holders but Debs is going nowhere but down in my view any bounce doesn't last long the trend is down. | simon templar qc

25/8/2017 16:21 | It's a rare event when DEB doesn't have a sale on. | 1fox1
25/8/2017 16:17 | Terminated, do you do shopping? Debenhams and other clothes shops do Summer sales every year in August. That is NORMAL trading. | edmundshaw |
