I wouldn't ask that question of buywell, he really doesn't know much. About anything.

The use of money paper or otherwise is now disappearing at a much faster rate because of Covid-19

As Covid-19 remains with us , so will the decline continue

Many shops/supermarkets/bars etc all now want touch card transactions so as not to infect staff or customers.

Covid-19 is the death knell for comapanies that make paper or plastic currency notes
IMO

2 years ago the mkt cap was over £500m plus the debt. The company is being streamlined , the debt reduced through the raise and business is growing especially the Authentication side.I first bought in around 50p and will be looking to buy more today if the share price approaches the raise price of 110p.

Yep, good point, the shorts will all use this chance to buy shares to exit their positions. So will be a lot of movements today.

A short holder isn't going to keep that position open, on a more stable company, that's not their bag. Its dead money or losing money for them.

Ironically, the shorts could push the share price up if they run for the exit together.

Bailing the shorts out I wonder.

Ouch what? owenski - desperate stuff.

Pretty much as expected - better in fact. The placement and equity raise was always going to happen - always. They needed to as part of the bank facilities extension, but also why would he not, as a new CEO with the opportunity - take advantage of the sudden share price leap.

Sneeked in another 10p per share, probably yesterday, on the equity raise to reduce the dilution. Fully underwritten - all the guff about material uncertainty is just a technical requirement, as if the equity raise does not proceed - it would require shareholders to vote it down and shaft themselves. It's a done deal.

Note also the pension surplus - it will have moved since, but not that much given the recovery since March in markets - so again, just no longer an issue.

Some money to be made on the rights issue stuff - buying at 110, selling at whatever. I doubt it will get near 110 before the raise. IT does rescue the shorts somewhat though - instead of looking at 200 or even 300 to close, they will probably get away with 150-odd, after the placement. For some of the positions anyway.

The trading statement at the start of June was a bit of a masterstroke - trebled the share price, even nearly quadrupled it before the raise. Brilliant stuff.

Very good of them to big up the share price with positive news and then do a heavily discounted placing because they have a very weak B/S..

Will be something like 193m shares in issue, almost double current issue.

Horrendous dilution.

Not looking cheap even on recent updates.

True. But I guess they made the most of recent share price increases.
But now their profit levels compared to their market capital and debt make them attractive, investors bought the shares and banks willing to underwrite the price. So to me thats tge base level that the investors expect, then they want a return on top.

Will just sit on it.

luckily it was on the back of the recent positive trading update and strong markets. Else it would have been a raise at 40p. The company has done a great job in managing this

fully underwritten fundraise @110 pence - not too surprising. Hopefully onwards and upwards, but no doubt will see some short term turbulence

This existing drug (ie no testing required really) has a great affect on those on oxygen. These are the people at high risk, and if they can be fixed, this will reduce the terminal effect of the virus on the population. If you could treat people and greatly reduce deaths, it becomes more like a regular flu. This may be very big news.

Having said that i see william hill has just done a 19.99% share issue.
With share issues you need buyers, so they want their money to be relatively safe, and once capital is raised, it removes aspects of debt issues, so investors happier.
So either way, it isn't always bad :)
... exiting :)

I really don't see share issue as the option they go for. That's something you do if your back is right against the wall. Money is cheap and it's a good business, so I see other financial instruments available and preferable.
Let's see.... exciting :)

Apparently not. Remember could be a placement/rights issue, so, erm, yeah. I'm OK with what I have. Manana
