15/5/2013 10:45 | 2 x 2,000,000 lots at 15p going through. Would be interesting to know who is involved. | janatha
15/5/2013 10:17 | Of course because there are almost no 3D broadcasts in the UK. | zipless
15/5/2013 09:18 | But probably broadcast in 2D format like Avatar has been. | dvda
15/5/2013 08:09 | 3D films such as Gatsby will be around for many years- repeated on TV endlessly. | jbarcroftr
15/5/2013 07:25 | jbarcroftr Why would it specifically? | bonio10000
14/5/2013 12:57 | Jbar I think it will! | quilarvium
14/5/2013 12:45 | I read the Great Gadsby has just been released in 3D. Will this effect DDD sales on TV etc | jbarcroftr
14/5/2013 12:29 | PC units are a dying breed! | quilarvium
13/5/2013 04:16 | I was being sarcastic. | bonio10000
12/5/2013 20:41 | Its in the final results look at the major customers section at the end "notes section" $ not £ though. I realise I could be misinterpreting your post but worth checking out for everyone. | poombear
12/5/2013 17:53 | Presumably another case of management lying then. They really didn't generate £3m from Sony. | bonio10000
12/5/2013 08:04 | Ok dvda maybe thats correct then, tridef is certainly in Sony monitor/tv products but can't find an example of a retail TV. | poombear
11/5/2013 21:44 | Zip less old chap, I fear that the DDD brigade are still using window and still think mini lap tops are cool.Tell them the story of Betamax? | quilarvium
11/5/2013 20:21 | They shipped 2.4m 'PC' units, so if most were Sony and revenue per unit was more than $1.00, it could easily add up to $3m. | dvda
11/5/2013 13:18 | Sharp tried 3D with DDD on their laptops a couple of years ago and it was a complete flop. One thing is certain and that is that PC gamers don't use laptops in any numbers. They use normal PCs as they can then use full sized graphics cards. Serious gamers use double or even triple full sized graphics cards in parallel. That quality of graphics is not really possible in a laptop. Looks like another flop on the way. | zipless
10/5/2013 23:01 | Sorry was stating from memory. But I do not think Sonys PC units would come anywhere near $3M so must include a large chunk of TV'S IMO. | poombear
10/5/2013 21:59 | The 82% you mention refers to "unit shipments" and not revenue. The relevant line from the annual report is as follows: "The mix of unit shipments by volume was: 82% TV, 16% PC and 2% mobile devices." I think they have previously stated that their PC related licences are higher margin, so I suspect that the Sony revenue is derived from this category alone. | dvda
10/5/2013 21:23 | Not sure its in many LG tv's, but if you check the results 82% of revenue is from Tv's, and Sonys contribution was $3m so most of that must be from tv's. | poombear
10/5/2013 21:09 | bonio Thanks, but there is no mention of Sony or LG TVs on that link. | dvda
10/5/2013 20:21 | I have to say the Samsung range is far bigger than last time I looked. https://www.tridef.c Nice. | bonio10000
10/5/2013 20:21 | Dvda https://www.tridef.c Best way to find it. There is a list of PC games as well and PC products. | bonio10000
10/5/2013 19:35 | There was talk earlier about how DDD has deals with three big TV manufacturers i.e. Samsung, Sony and LG. Whilst Sony and LG do indeed both produce TVs, I can't find any official mention of them having a licence with DDD. There's an LG licence for their 3D mobile and a Sony licence for their VAIO laptops, but no sign of anything for TVs. I presume I must have missed it - can someone point me in the right direction? | dvda |
