05/1/2019 11:24 | I'm sure they said on the wireless this morning that 70% or RYA passengers wouldn't rebook. In practice, that's too astounding to be credible and I'm sure spur-of-the-minute resolutions get broken. | sf5

04/1/2019 11:05 | SPShorting is always fraught with danger and I feel you there. Having said all that, fortunes reversed and TCG was a massive buy the day Invesco steppped in (biggest vol traded on the day for years then). U can stuff fundamentals when you have an elephant in the room and all you do is try to piggy back on their actions. Longer term - hell knows what will happen to TCG. Short term (days at least) - extremely bullish. more often than not it pays to ride together (even better - doing so when the picture is completely foggy and fundamentals argue the opposite) with institutional money because they are price setters and will help one make some dough due to their huge footprint. | tongosti
04/1/2019 09:16 | CT, are you short TCG? It's always risky with stocks that are trading at option value as I know from experience; even if the theoretical value of the equity - as is currently the case with TCG - is nil (i.e if bonds are expecting 68p in £1, the shares have no value). | woozle1
04/1/2019 08:54 | Agree and i watch with trepidation the share price climbing back to almost 40p Its nearly doubled from its low. I see no value in the shares. How they think cutting prices and destroying the margin can help i dont know. That said its a dash for cash in my opinion. Very little movement in our shares but bookings are up. ( i am told) very best Tiger | castleford tiger
04/1/2019 08:28 | You too, CT. Curious that TCG opening more shops in London on expensive high streets and doubling down on a strategy that is not working. I'm assuming this is an attempt to rebrand the company and shift away from cheap travel. As we drove by a travel shop in Bristol at the w/e, a friend of mine said (apropos of nothing and no interest in stocks), who buys a holiday in a travel shop these days? I'm sure TCG and Tui with 1,200 shops between them are wondering the same. For what it's worth, I expect the share price to be choppy but the business will perform strongly. TCG limping on will be good news and restrict their ability to compete strongly. Although it requires a fundamental restructuring of its debts and leasehold obligations, this will be avoided in the short term for the fear of reputation damage. But TCG will eventually have to renegotiate its debts as low cash profits will mean it runs out of road. The 3.875% of 2023 trade at 68, having recovered from the low of 62 in December and 6.25% of 2022 trade at 77 (70 in Dec). The 10% rise in the bond price does not reflect too much confidence despite director buying. Going into the Jan booking season in administration would be disastrous and the insider buying has bought them more time. As Michel Barnier is fond of saying, the clock is ticking. Debt markets tend to be a better predictor of a company's prospects as they reflect its ability to meet current cash obligations versus equity markets that deal in hope. Either way, TCG's malaise is good news for Jet2. w1 | woozle1

31/12/2018 00:08 | Wow, looks like the market has whacked this to an under-valuation; about 35% currently with no factor for growth imo. And great cash conversion and excess margins. Given expectations of recession, Brexit, no holidays and planes grounded it looks like the perfect time to buy on consensus pessimism being wrong. I shall be opening long between here or better and 800 to celebrate the new year (3 year view). Good luck all for 2019! | sogoesit
27/12/2018 07:05 | A blip or something more serious? Time will tell but i am happy with my companies especially DART group. A cold winter does not mean that Global warming is not happening. Take the longer picture and let the trend be your friend. Tiger | castleford tiger
