24/10/2018 03:25 | After recent guidance from PM at the AGM stating new expectations for 2018-19 you would have to think they has some left, being as conservative as he is with numbers for the full year normally Unless losses for winter have been improved significantly, you would have to think the first half results will be pretty big as an offset to losses and still possibly beat full year numbers.. My money is on similar numbers as CF How active is PM on the 2nd hand market for planes are all purchases going forward now new ? More aircraft must be on the cards, 20 a year for the next 3 years with 2 new bases would be a prediction. Maybe not Boeing this time then..more holidays to EU and maybe business for Airbus to keep the Eurocrats happy | snorkelparker
23/10/2018 18:31 | The top brass were personally showing representatives from Airbus around Low Fare Finder House at LBA a few days ago. A sign of the future or just a show to get a better deal from Boeing in the future? Take your pick but with plans for 160+ aircraft within 3 years there’s a lot of business to be done with Jet2.com Picked this up today. Thanks to the author tiger | castleford tiger
23/10/2018 18:17 | Ok its time for numbers First half PBT I am going 250m up from 204 last year. T/o up 20/25%. Load factors higher. Probably as good as it gets ( except we have more new planes now) and those extra 40 seats really helps. Results in November tiger | castleford tiger
23/10/2018 16:54 | CT, I've seen your comments re TCG and a rights issue. There was a rights issue to pay down debt in 2012 and I'm not sure if there's investor appetite to throw more money after bad; especially if they are back 6 years later, although with a "new strategy". Moreover, investors will expect the creditors to take some pain in return for new money. In all likelihood that would require a Creditors Voluntary Agreement. Do you think TCG could do a CVA without bringing down the whole company? Carpetright did a CVA and kept trading but that was a much more simple business with a limited category of creditors. TCG will have all sort of obligations: banks, landlords, aircraft leases, subsidiary guarantees, accommodation etc. And this would seriously complicate a CVA. w1 | woozle1
23/10/2018 13:00 | Amidst a sea of red EasyJet + Ryanair are shining again. DTG languishing around another day's low. | tongosti
23/10/2018 10:52 | You are kidding xc1 your long tcg ? | snorkelparker
23/10/2018 10:41 | I am reluctant to "tap the fish tank" but XC1, have you read the accounts? "Net cash, stated after borrowings of £806.6m (2017: £520.5m), was £202.0m". | wagnerlove
23/10/2018 10:01 | xc1 How can you come and talk about debt when you hold TCG who are carrying 1.5b of debt. then you say.......... meaning increased expenditure to tacky holiday resorts which punters are now turning their backs on....... It was at this point I had to rush to the bathroom........ Holidays up 35% last year and 25% this year v TCG at about 2% Lets see where we are after the actual results Tiger | castleford tiger
22/10/2018 22:53 | The mounting debt here is worrying especially more so as the company take on extra routes, meaning increased expenditure to tacky holiday resorts which punters are now turning their backs on.As for the company also being hit by the recent heatwave, well the market is dealing with that.Sell any bounce...... price is getting lower lows, lower highs. | xc1
22/10/2018 17:47 | EasyJet + Ryanair had a big day up today (even the beat TCG)... | tongosti
22/10/2018 16:29 | Hope xc1 and Tongo have the Vaseline ready. Tongo must have used up all his supplies from his last bear raid when the shares went from £3.50 to £10.00. Great bear call, bruv. I'm reminded of a quote that is often misattributed to Einstein: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” Sainsbury's doing the best deal at the moment. £2 for 100 ml. Time to load up if I were you two! w1 | woozle1
22/10/2018 16:17 | It's not a bargain to the main market which is more important.Atb. | xc1
22/10/2018 15:47 | I'm in at 830p -a bargain in my view. | davebowler
22/10/2018 15:43 | Yo worzel, no one wants the key to your combine harvester. Are you waiting for 450p or 380p ? | xc1
22/10/2018 15:24 | Cobalt banners still on view at Gatwick yesterday. Suspect that Tongo and xc1 will be joining that company soon. w1 | woozle1
22/10/2018 14:48 | Bears have this now nicely under 200ma.Oh dear. | xc1
22/10/2018 11:51 | Bought back in here this morning. Good luck all holders. | liam1om

22/10/2018 10:35 | Just over a couple of weeks away for half year update .. | snorkelparker
22/10/2018 10:31 | Agreed that its healthy to have a balance of opinions, to question and review our thinking.. It's getting cheaper today.. | snorkelparker
22/10/2018 10:09 | And that number does not even include a scenario or a bear market. As our good friend Buffett suggests, an FCF yield number should also include bear market performances - which is not what people on this board want to hear but am sure you understand the nuance. We're very likely heading much lower before DTG emerges again as a great buy at some point during the next bear market cycle. | tongosti |
