I am trying to imagine some class of radio-active Garfield roaming the Black Mountains in green thigh-waders,(for greater biosecurity), with velcro on the inside of the knees, desperately searching for some stray sheep that maff has overlooked.

Old typists never die but sometimes they do lose their touch.

Old taxidermists never die either. Sometimes they just start a gnu.

"The best thing to come out of Liverpool since the Manchester ship canal...only dirtier!"

(Steve Coogan describing Atomic Kitten in the Evening Standard a couple of nights ago - aparently this was how he wanted to introduce them on Top Of The Pops)

Well if he is coming back I hope he picks a more sensible name than Dil.
I mean some of the names on this BB show a mental age of 3. Take Atomic Kitten.
What a plonker of a name.

For Dil

Alas poor Dil
He must be ill
To leave the PBB
To go to Sea

It must be true
I wish we knew
Comeback he must
Its time for Just

The price is low
Its going to Blow
Up or Down
We Just don't know

But rest assured
Wilf's the man
To cure poor Dil
Of his Ill....

For Martini:-

MATERIALS:
1 - 2 ounce skein Mohair (you can use any kind of yarn or thread)
Size F crochet Hook

INSTRUCTIONS:
With 2 strands of Mohair (1 strand of 4 ply ww yarn) chain 15 turn.
Row 1: Skip 3 ch (counts as 1 dc), dc in each of the remaining chs, chain 3, turn.
Row 2: Dc in each of 12 dc, ch 3, turn. Always work in back loop only to form a ridge.
Row 3: Repeat row 2. Ch 40 at end of row 3, turn, work 2 sc in each back loop of first 20 ch sts, 1 sc in each of the remaining 20 chs. You are now in a position to work next row.
Row 4: 2 dc in first dc, dc in each dc in each dc across, ch 3 turn. (14 dc).
Row 5: Work 15 dc across, inc 1 dc at end of row, ch 45, turn. 2 sc in each back loop of first 20 chs, sc in remaining 25 chs.
Row 6: 2 dc in first dc, dc in each dc across, ch 3 turn (16 dc).
Row 7: Work 17 dc across, inc 1 dc at end of row, ch 50, 2 sc in each back loop of first 20 chain sts, sc in remaining 30 chs.

Repeat rows 6 and 7, inc 1 dc in each row and inc the chains to 52, 55, 55, then dec to balance first half making chains 55, 55, 52, 50, 45. Then work 3 more rows to correspond to the first 3 rows.

Each end of cap may be left straight or join yarn and decrease sts to form a point. Attach yarn to end of cap, ch 40. 2 sc in each of first 20 sts, sc in remaining ch. Work the same for other side of cap. This forms the ties.

Make a pompom over a 3 inch cardboard by winding yarn about 50 times around. Fasten yarn, leaving a short length. Gather all curls together and fasten pompom around them.

Work 1 row sc across front of hat. You may use a contrasting color for pompom and sc across front if desired.

RESULT:
A pony-tail hat
