Not sure they will take private until the current management retire and leave the business. I think they like the status quo and, to be fair, so do I! Getting close to buying some more.

Big incentive to take the company private. But this is not AIM. How would it work in case the family want to do it? The Annual report is not very clear as to the shareholding of the controlling entity, but it can be over 70%.

I know I've been an unwelcome permabear here; however I have to say that down at a notional 60% discount it is surely now too late to sell. They could even be a short-term buy for a rally back to the chart breakdown point at £55.

ravalue, as an intermediate step they could buy in some shares. At these levels it is really a plus unless they know something we don't about the property market. The management much have toyed with taking the company private however they seem to have an emotional attachment to the quote.

I suspect there will be quite a lot of downward pressure as some big institutions look to offload given the governance issue. Who would want to be a fund manager holding this when you get internal questions from compliance / bosses / marketing departments along the lines of why do you own a share with no women on the board? Makes it even less likely we will see new institutions coming in to mop up from sellers - holding one thing, buying another..... Any views on whether the owners could sneak this off market at a big discount to NAV? They have plenty of headroom on the gearing to buy out the 25% free float.

I don't think a labour is anything to worry about as they will be the biggest losers out of all the parties I think the Brexit party will be the biggest winners but that still might change as the political circus is changing rapidly

NTV I don't think that is likely. The share is in a sector that is completely depressed at the moment. The prospect of a Labour victory in an election and all that brings is affecting the share price badly. Brexit looms over everything as well and affects sentiment. Any large sales will heavily depress it further. It's all smokes and mirrors at the moment, wait until the AGM.o American assets are a substantial proportion of assets, remember that, and as such provide some relief at this time. At the end of the day look at the NAV and look at the SP, to give the investor some cheer. R.

I was wondering whether they are going to be forced off the main market as they are not adhering to the new rules re directors . See previous link to a newspaper article about the company

TV - pls do NOT take this in a censorious way as most definitely NOT intended. In any event, most likely just a typical email/post/twitter mistake. Reins rather than reigns.

Might as well hire professional managers & still control the finances. Portman Estate might be interested in the Oxford St. site.

I was thinking more of what Mucklow did - i.e. merge with another capable company, if there is no logical board progression to run the show. The sons appear to have other careers and are not showing much interest in taking over the reigns.
