Based on the timing for the last couple of years there could be a trading update due on Monday/Tuesday.

“Data silos destroy great customer experiences,” said Jeff Lawson. Doesn't Bill Bruno talk in similar vein? hTTps://techcrunch.com/2020/10/12/twilio-confirms-it-is-buying-segment-for-3-2b-in-an-all-stock-deal/ and the company they acquired. Under the section "Empower every team with good data", cannot D4t4 do all of that? hTTps://segment.com/

Nice upturn here. I see a company called twilio have bought a start up company of data for 3bn dollars. Any read across on valuations for D4t4?

Active and up today, so looks like the market may be expecting update next week - or has it been tipped?

Last two years, they've released it on the Monday of the third week of October. So could be the 19th this year

All I know is, I sold a load at 220p because it had fallen from ~240, bought back around 180, which I have bought at a couple of times before. This share is pretty sensitive to perceived bad news, for reasons I know not, but it's never let me down from 180 in the past and I don't think it will this time either. If it does let me down, I'll be doubling at 150 I think.

I am not familiar with American counterparts but if D4T4's valuation remains around existing levels could it be susceptible to a US bid? Any more informed views on the likelihood of this possible scenario?

I get the feeling that if this was a US company the switch to SAAS would be roundly rewarded. There is only an opportunity cost if you do not believe the price will rise. In other words you have to be resigned to a negative response to the change from perpetual licence to SAAS in order to think there is an opportunity cost in holding. I mean there is a global pandemic raging across the planet that apparently is accelerating the transition to a digital economy - but so what, it doesn't count at d4t4? Anyway I added some a couple of days ago. I'm holding.

In simple terms it's the SaaS transition which is ironic as it will only improve earnings quality over time but the voting / weighing machine analogy is it play. There is an opportunity cost to holding on during such a transition and each investor has to make their own choices. Personally i'm confident that over time the valuation will be multiples of the current share price

Does anyone know why D4T4 is so unloved? Shouldn't this be riding high on the digitisation narrative? We keep hearing about banks cutting staff - because of the move to online banking. So what's up? "Celebrus, from D4t4 Solutions, is the best-in-class, instant data capture solution." hxxps://www.teradata.com/Partners/Celebrus,-a-D4t4-Solutions-product Is the technology perceived to be easy to copy or lacking durability? Are future cashflows doubted? Is there something wrong or is this just cheap?

Dave, I've seen the Finncap (Nomad & joint broker) note from 30th June which cut the FY21 EPS forecast from 14.7p to 6.6p on flat revenue with the £2m reduction in profitability being equally split between reduction in GM and increased costs (including investment in new hires). Finncap also suggest a 1/3 to 2/3's H2 weighting.

Hi Dave,.Looking back (through Stockopedia) it looks as though Canaccord cut their forecasts during w/e 4th July. Revenue Forecast to 31/03/21 was reduced by 24% and Net Profit by 49%. Target price unchanged however..Hope that helps, tightfist

Yes, if you work in the IT industry digitisation is a fairly standard term, some other organisations call it digitial transformation or digital strategy.
