It still cracks me up to this day.

The irony is this list was compiled several months ago, but could already be considerably expanded upon today!

No significant revenues have arrived from that list and many of those came ahead of placings.

The company continues to make considerable losses, last year the biggest loss to date, despite their epic list.....drawn from many, many years of upbeat RNS'

lol.

Thought leaders?!! Lord help us. More like flip floppers. IMO their thinking was about how to enrich themselves whilst destroying the share price by relentlessly awarding themselves options at pathetically low values well below the share price on the day they arrived. They overestimated their talents and missed every one of their low bar options as the share headed lower and lower. How many more months of payroll left? I ignore cash from sales announcements because they normally don’t turn into real sales.

Never mind the safety of the ip :-) We should be more concerned about the bonuses for the big hitters. If they don’t get their bonuses and they leave to take their world leading talents elsewhere then what shall we do? Who else could we turn to for such consistent performance? Albeit complete failure. We need consistent, strong and stable leadership and I know of a woman who might just measure up in terms of failure ;-)

Licensing anything to China is a risk.

How safe is the IP?

Yet another excellent post there multibagger. Reckon as well that CYAN are now finally making some good progress but obviously CYAN require further contracts & revenues.

Whilst national and global events rule the markets at this time, I get the impression that we are making good commercial progress....but as some/many would choose to say, it's not fast enough.

There is not enough clarity in the RNS to make assumptions as to how the deal has been structured.

Could it be that the $4m is for x number of hardware units over a 2 year period?
Or is it an unlimited number of units manufactured within a 2 year period ?
Is this deal only for the hardware design, or for the associated software too ?
What happens after the 2 year period ?

The partnership with Beijing Instruments could allow us to make inroads in countries where the Chinese Govt is funding huge infrastructure projects. The RNS mentions a number of developing nations that BI is involved in and this could be a route into those territories.

Equally, with the sensitivities of Iran sanctions affecting most countries that have no choice but to toe the US Govt sanctions line, China could be an exception - with regards to whom and where they chose to do business. So our association with BI could ostensibly give us another route into Iran ?

I am still speculating as to how the $4m revenue recognition will be apportioned, but I think it will be conservative in the region of $1-1.5m possibly for this year end ? I am sure accountants on this BB may have a view, and could choose to share it.

My guess is that our year end revenue will be now circa $6-7m (based on current news), which would be a huge improvement on the H1 figures. If there are any other RNS surprises from India or elsewhere, then this could then change...

Onwards and upwards..good luck all :)

Some debate over at the glee club about details of the recently announced $4M deal in China. I really don’t understand the reason behind the debate. If it’s like any of Cyans past deals there will likely be no detail and imo likely never mentioned again. How many of Cyans deals have turned into full deal value real money? World leading lol :-)

Aren’t we on speaking terms with Theresa May having previously gone on a jaunt or two with her to sell British stuff or something? Could Cyan have accompanied our inept leader on her latest jaunt as she tours Europe the next few days? We could have used her superior negotiating skills and the opportunity to sell some world leading British technology engineered in Sweden ;-)

Regarding today's Cyan trading, there was a large 403k sale at 10.378p at 10:03am (I assume today) but reported later after the market closed. That suggests to me that the nine subsequent deals (total 268k) were actually all Buys at decreasing prices? Or are the MM's taking in stock by absorbing Sales?Did anyone trade after 10:02 today and can confirm. I wonder how it will open tomorrow!!!

Good morning all :)

Been re-reading the RNS and notable points / excerpts from the RNS IMHO..

So it looks like we are partnered with one of the biggest suppliers of instruments to the Chinese Government with an international presence.

This RNS looks even better than when I first read it - the $4m is most welcome, but could represent just a small part of the overall commercial prospects given who we are linked with ?

1. Beijing Instruments is a well-established meter manufacturer and since 1998, it has been a main supplier to the State Grid Corporation of China. CyanConnode and Beijing Instruments are also pleased to announce that they have agreed to collaborate on sales opportunities outside of China.

2. This is CyanConnode's first Licensing Agreement and the terms of the contract grant Beijing Instruments the right to use CyanConnode's reference designs to manufacture its AMI RF modules and gateways. Beijing Instruments will pay a license fee each time a RF module and/or gateway unit is manufactured, for a total number of modules and gateways over a two year time frame totalling USD 4m.

3. Beijing Instruments is located in the Daxing Industrial Development Area, where it has a 30,000 square meter facility with around 400 employees; it also has a joint venture in Bangladesh.

4. Beijing Instruments has been a main supplier to the State Grid Corporation of China since 1998 and has won contracts in Beijing, Henan Province, Hebei Province, Xinjiang Province, Gansu Province and Hubei Province, as well as overseas contracts in Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

Should have been a very interesting week in the normal run of things, but the country and markets have bigger issues to grapple with :(

Good luck all !

I met a fella down the pub at the weekend who surprisingly had never heard of the world leading Cyan. He said he had once heard of a colour called cyan. I had to confess I had never heard of that colour, Anyway, he was going to buy some wire mesh at b and q. I mentioned Cyan do great wireless mesh and he said he will have a look and compare their price to other meshes. We do still sell mesh don’t we? Is it like chicken wire? Just doing my bit to promote Cyans thingies ;-).

JC has been talking the Licensing route ("ARM model") for at least three years and now he has finally delivered - something. The announcement is initially encouraging but we rightly need to know a lot more about upfront payments (Licence followed by Royalty?), unit pricing, working capital requirements (how low is low), cash flow & timing, and, most importantly reassurance about the security of our IP (our prospective SH lifeline).Until then we are right to be cautious - but we do have recent NED DJ-P on guard, who has invested his OWN money; don't underestimate the possible significance and clout vested with him.Cheers, tightfist

I was at the last AGM, scrutable. Presumably you weren't. Certainly most of the rentagobs here weren't. I'd suggest more turn up in future - they might learn something.

The accumulating negatives on this company are probably deserved, but would be worth much more delivered from the floor at an AGM. Or every three months, copied to the Nomads and summarised to the FCA, and then repeated in the case of inaction. Ultimately the credible part of the history has to be forced onto the conscious consideration of Nomads and regulators. Otherwise venting dissatisfaction, however justified is a complete waste of your time

Some good press coverage over the weekend. Another RNS next week? Just a gut feeling.
