Re 1289

Hi tightfist,

Looks like the 235k was a sell, which appears to have been "absorbed" by a massive 370k buy @ 5.90p shortly after ?

It appears my speculation earlier in BB Post 1284 may have been correct, as the bid did not drop. Equally, it could be some one moving funds around their accounts/ ISAs etc.

Hi tightfist,

AGM is 30th Sep at 1600 hrs - as would be expected a closed door affair.

As sabre6 says H1 trading should be interesting and hopefully will indicate greater delivery against the orders.

Another tender for Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh worth about 17.52 crores is open - closing 19 Oct 2020 (USD$2.5m circa)

Hello Multi,.Thanks for the reminder - I must dust-off my copy of the Crossing the Chasm book, very pertinent to how Cyan should progress, fingers crossed!.Regarding prospective news, have you seen a date yet for the AGM? It cannot be far away. Concerning the 235k trade, it was a delayed report - but from what day? And hence a Buy or a Sell?.Cheers, tightfist

Hi Multi
End of October is end of first half of year and yes I am expecting good news.
When I last inquired about six months ago Simon Smith had not sold any of his shares although he has left the company.
Good luck

Many thanks sabre6 for your kind comments and you are most welcome :)

Any particular reason that you feel end October could be key ? Unless of course, you are expecting a very decent H1 update ?

Yeah I agree that we don't seem too far off breakeven and dare I say even the "p" word of profitability ? I suppose we could always hope ! The gentle uptrend with the share price holding relatively well (and not dropping dramatically), could be significantly lifted by some good commercial news. I think liquidity is pretty tight anyway, so all the more reason for my optimism.

Though my eyes are focussed on our biggest market India, there is always the possibility of some real left field news from Rest of the World. Who knows !!

Good luck all !

Hi Multi
Thanks for your input very good comments.
I personally think that Cyan are at/close to break even and Mr market is just beginning to wake up to the above.
We should be a bit wiser come end of October.

Good morning sabre6 (and all),

I'm not sure/can't recall that JC personally mentioned a takeover of the company, but I recall speculating on that aspect given his corporate track record of exits. The posts/discussion were along the lines of - "at what point in terms of market cap would such a buyout happen?"

As you may already know, in any new technology adoption cycle, there are some discrete stages and we appear to be moving from the "early adopters" stage to the "early majority" stage in India and we/CYAN have learned this can take a long time ! The next stage following would be "late majority".

Two books that I found interesting - "Crossing the Chasm" by Geoffrey A Moore and "Technological Revolutions and Financial Capital" by Carlota Perez on this particular aspect - worth a read, particularly the former as it is less academic/dry.

Despite the Covid, India seems to be on mission with the smart meter rollout and it appears that about 23 Tenders (in total) relating to Smart Meters are open currently, though it could encompass aspects of smart metering that CYAN are not really interested in.

I have taken out a subscription with one of the Indian Tender Detail suppliers to keep any eye on this area and be able to spot trends/specifications etc.

Yesterday there was a trade that caught my attention - a single transaction of about 235k shares - but no corresponding drop in the bid as one would expect. Therefore the sell appears to have been "absorbed" ? Could be a buyer or Insti accumulating ?

Good luck all :)

Didn't JC say a few years ago the small orders/trials will come first followed by huge orders leading to a takeover of the company

Hi MB;.I am interested that the Cellular versus RF Mesh battle continues through tenders. Has Cyan's hybrid data collection solution given Cellular a shot in the arm?.Agreed, on the face of it the new SPV approach is sound and, at last, potentially introduces sustainable sources of funding..However, it introduces more complexity and provides the opportunity for a Third Party to become involved and reap their RoI rewards - at who's expense? Some arm-wrestling and potentially common funding are also likely IMO to lead to volume discounts (as you speculated in #1264), unless the tender is water-tight as-awarded, before an SPV is formed?.As I said, time to listen carefully to what was said, rather than my random speculation! NIAI. Cheers, tightfist

I am more sanguine about the issues around forming a SPV. It is after all a legal structure and CYAN have already executed one in terms of 5 towns project near Indore.

Obviously the parties have to negotiate the finer terms and agree on equity arrangements, but doable. There seems to be a momentum building in my view.

J&K - we may have a shout. I think part of this 925k tender could include the 200k tender that was repudiated due to the Chinese meter manufacturer involvement. Anyway this is me speculating - the closing date is 28 Sep - so pretty ambitious - reading between the lines, I think whatever contract award is to be awarded, , may have already been "decided" , but going through the motions of a Tender/Procurement process to avoid a possible legal challenge.

We'll know in due course :)

Good morning tightfist,

Just noticed another biggie tender in J&K for 925k smart meters..closing 28 Sep 2020. All these are potentially huge contracts (double digit millions over the lifetime of the contract) should we bid and are successful...

No wonder share price is gently creeping up :)

Good morning all :)

Spotted this tender for potentially 350k smart meters in Jharkhand with RF Mesh, India worth about Rs 300 crores (about US $40.5 million)

Closing 17 Nov 2020

Another big tender in Jammu and Kashmir, potentially 925k smart meters closing 28 Sep 2020

A few other tenders on the same website as well, but not been able to get the detail.

Indian smart metering roll out seems to be on the move :)

Good luck all !

Hi tightfist,

Yes - Adani 700k tender as set out is Rs 480 crores which roughly translates to US $65.48 million - as big as they come (so far).

(when converted using a forex rate of $USD1 = Rs 73.3) as per Coinmill currency converter.

Hi MB,Thanks for the Adani link, notably 700,000 unit tender ...21/62 is a monster in Lakhs compared with all the others WIP..From the 16/09 Corrigendum advising delay to 24/09 it looks as though the SLA penalty thresholds are being nickel-and-dimed behind the scenes? Possibly related to qualifying Not-Spots? General inference last week was 11%..Last weeks InvestorCall made me thoughtful about the creation of SPV's and ensuing time delays - the way HP described it sounded quite complex. And, if Cyan are successful, how/when it is announced to the market..Thoughts? tightfistPS: Saw your post #1264 on pricing - will look at my notes

Adani 700k tender - Now closing tomorrow (21.09.2020) instead of 14 Sep 2020.

Pure speculation on my part....but CYAN tech would appear to meet the technical specifications required by Adani Electricity mentioned in the Corrigenda, based on what we know from our Indore flagship project outcomes.

Fingers and everything else crossed - 700k smart meters with 10 year AMC could be worth a huge lot - a decent double digit $ million contract potentially :)

Good luck all !

Another trade of 260k...so that makes it 1m shares in 3 transactions over the last 2 days in large deals(relative to CYAN usual transaction size).

On 22nd Sep, the Assam and Punjab tenders close. Adani tender for 700k would/should have closed on 14 Sep.

So we could have news/outcomes relating to these Tenders in the next 6-8 weeks possibly ?

Yes and another a single transaction of about 241k shares yesterday - larger than the average size of historical transactions.

The chart is beginning to confirm the uptrend hopefully - moving on the upside of a "cup and handle." The golden cross was achieved a few weeks ago.... so hopefully market will be more receptive to positive commercial news than in the past, as and when it lands.
