08/4/2013 09:08 | Another buyback, and an interesting nav update. They've made some "opportunistic investments", are still buying back shares, still have lots of cash, and see opportunities for further investments on a market sell-off. It would be interesting to know what they have in mind for SUH... | dashton42
05/4/2013 07:51 | Yes we're talking nearly 2m shares in this batch of buybacks, pretty aggressive and still a 10% discount. | cockerhoop
05/4/2013 07:02 | Yep, there it is. | dashton42
04/4/2013 17:56 | Looks like another buyback of 150,000 shares today. Will be watching out for an RNS tomorrow... | dashton42
29/3/2013 16:35 | Hi Dashton, It is a CRS holding, they own 3.05% of it so would be RNSable if they sold down so I believe they still own it. The stake is worth approx £1.5m or 3p of NAV. | cockerhoop
28/3/2013 15:01 | It is getting to the same sort of discount when they stopped buying just before New Year (8-10%). | cockerhoop
28/3/2013 14:03 | You could be right (but hopefully aren't!) Yet another buyback yesterday, I notice. I wonder if it might be time to ease back on purchasing their own shares, and start buying shares in other companies instead? Just a thought. | dashton42
28/3/2013 08:27 | kiss of death from him then! | edwardt
27/3/2013 15:18 | Simon Thompson (Investors Chronicle) has given an update on all his recent tips. As regards the CRS constituent companies, he's still keen on API ("definite recovery upside"), and grimly recommends holding onto SUH, seeing "...little point in bailing out at such a depressed level". As regards CRS as a whole, he maintains his Buy advice of 22nd January. | dashton42
27/3/2013 11:09 | They certainly held MAYG on 31st December 2012 as reported in the interim results but its not 1 of the top 10 holdings so can't confirm that they still hold though I suspect they probably do. They reported that they made 50% on MAYG shares repurchased from the Sept profit warning to 31st Dec which resulted in a 0.7% uplift in CRS NAV.(so approx 0.85p per share from an estimated rise from 130p to say 190p.) Using the above I therefore estimate that the current rise to 230 or so probably adds another 0.5p to NAV. | cockerhoop
27/3/2013 10:41 | may guerney is a holding??? | edwardt
27/3/2013 10:17 | Yes, I noticed that API was staging something of a comeback, and THT's had a good run of late, though off the last couple of days. If the CRS share price carries on rising, we may be in danger of trading at a premium?! I probably won't hold my breath though. | dashton42
26/3/2013 22:35 | API & TTG firm today taking the NAV to £1.28. | cockerhoop
26/3/2013 07:07 | Make that 50,000, although I'm positive ADVFN showed a 500,000 trade last night. Anyway, buybacks still seem to be the order of the day. | dashton42
25/3/2013 11:53 | Got to be more buybacks driving the price. I wonder from whom CRS are picking up the stock? | cockerhoop
22/3/2013 07:50 | Eek. Well, swings and roundabouts is all I can say. | dashton42
22/3/2013 07:24 | Appears a setback for SUH which CRS hold 27% of. | cockerhoop
22/3/2013 07:06 | And yet another substantial buy-back! We must be well over a million shares bought back in this particular cycle. I get used to seeing almost daily buybacks by the likes of VOD and CNA, but... Hopefully these actions to close the discount aren't being taken at the expense of raising the nav in the first place, through activist interventions and new/top-up investments... | dashton42
21/3/2013 10:55 | As you said, management now has a vested interest in narrowing the share price discount. It's amazing how that seems to have focussed minds...! | dashton42
21/3/2013 10:53 | Appears I spoke too soon :-) | cockerhoop |
