The growth part of the business in the last few years has been Technical Fibre Products. (TFP). They do break out some numbers for TFP in the accounts. TFP are in a number of areas involving composites, fuel cells, areospace e.t.c. It's not clear to me if the growth has been in one particular area or if it's broadly based. Does anyone know? It's early days on the paper packaging business James Cropper 3D Products. Can they make money recycling paper cups? I can see that recycled cups are a resource for the paper mill, but I've no idea of the economics of the business. Anyone any idea? I have a small holding here I'm only a penny punter. I'm holding because of the growth in the TFP business.

Looks like 50p eps for year end, so a PE of 35 for a zero growth stock...seems high to me.

Recent discussions about applying a tax to one use plastics may be helping at moment. Businesses may start to look for alternatives and cropper could be well placed....

Good strong rebound in price on back of interims - expect steady rise on back of continuing TFP progress and hopefully new 3D products...

I think one thing that's quite positive is how quiet this board is! These are not shares that are being ramped. I'm not too concerned about the recent pull-back - same with a fair few high PE shares. Most of our investment is for the IHT relief available for my Mum - although I'd look to hold after that's no longer an issue. I like the TFP growth and am intrigued re the new division.

It's over 12 years ago since I was taken on a tour of the Cumbria plant and saw the tfp section. Today's result demonstrate how prescient they were 20% growth geared toward s fuel cells. It's very positive

Garbetklb Correct it is going up by 5.1% per annum because of demand for paper based packaging, which I would say is a good thing for Cropper. All the best In 2011, the pulp and paper industry experienced the highest price point in more than 30 years. The industry had an inflationary trend that experts projected would last through 2011, but in 2015 the record price climbed past the previous peak. Yet again, we are seeing high pulp and paper prices and the question remains, when will pulp and paper prices finally stabilize, or will this inflationary trend continue? Well, according to IBISWorld, the price of wood pulp is forecasted to rise even further at an annualized rate of 5.1% in the two years to 2019. One factor driving the current price increase is supply not being able to keep up with the growing demand for paper-based packaging products.

Over on the ACRL thread (I do not hold) there is comment about a recent sharp rise in the price of pulp. Maybe this has triggered the sell off?

hybrasil, I was one of them. I topsliced *just* after the peak at 32% profit, and when it dropped about 7% i sold the rest. I didnt want to see all my profits walk after a long build as I had happen with PRV. Happy to get back in at the right price of course!

High amount of trades again yesterday. it seems to be a large number of very small shareholding's I suspect what has happened is that this pull back has prompted a huge PI sell off.

Agreed hybrasil. Interesting that intro day much lower and then recovered some. It is now sitting closer to broker targets so hopefully more support at this level. Am still happy to hold for long term....
