Croma deal lifts shares

Published on Friday 10 February 2012 00:00

Shares in Croma Group, the Dumfries-based security firm run by former soldiers of the Black Watch, soared yesterday after it announced a new contract.

The company signed a five-year contract worth £5.75 million to secure the premises of "a major listed London property group". It shares rose 29 per cent to 2.23p.

Chief executive Sebastian Morley said the asset protection deal, secured by the firm's Vigilant Security subsidiary, was a significant win.

"Once again our success highlights that the security service offered by our ex-military security professionals is recognised by the market as potent and attractive," he said.

The firm has been shifting its focus to private security work such as guarding celebrities as cutbacks threaten its government contracts, and was rewarded with 67 per cent revenue growth last year.

The Independent

Down on AIM, Croma was 28.99 per cent stronger at 2.22p after the security service firm announced that it had won a contract worth £1.15m a year. Investors had to guess as to the identiy of the customer, however, with Croma rather mysteriously saying it was a "a major listed London property group".

Nice to see a tick up, isn't it time that someone updated the header page with all the recent news rather than what happened in 2004?

Yf - we've all got one somewhere in our portfolio.

What are you expectations for the company going forward? You must have some faith having hung on for so long...?

Just think, if it triples from here, I may even get my original stake back.
5 years and no return on my money, what a lucky chap eh ?

What are peoples predictions of revenue growth this year?

Judging by the number of new contract wins it looks like the company could witness significant sales growth this year and improved margins now that discountinued operations have been disposed of.
