trier1, Because there are no market forecasts for CRL they don't (as far as I understand it) have to RNS significantly positive or negative trading prior to results announcements.

If it was significant they would have issued an rns to say so. More likely it is replacing other products where orders have dried up.

Was hoping for notification of trading update today. Anyone no when it is coming? I reckon this sanitiser should be worth 17.5p a bottle to us - that would add 4 mill to operating profit, lets hope the demand is there for the next 12 months at least. Gla

trier1- you might well be right regarding a news leak, though personally I think it's market anticipation of strong results at the end of next month. CRL has performed very well year on year and is one of relatively few businesses in a position to benefit from the Coronavirus outbreak.

Although do bear in mind that article is six weeks old, so if so it's a very delayed reaction.

This might explain the current investor interest: Sanitiser production rolling as Creightons plc targets 500,000 units a week Https://www.businessweekly.co.uk/news/local-sharewatch/sanitiser-production-rolling-creightons-plc-targets-500000-units-week

I brought hand sanitizer from them.. Why?? Because I cannot find it anywhere in local supermarkets... haven't seen it in a shop since virus panic hit the shops! Turned up within 48hrs.

They are selling a product which everyone wants and needs including businesses that are opening.. in my mind it's about time the market caught up!! Results will indeed be interesting.

A news leak that no one is telling the market about seems the most likely bet.

My guess is Simon Thompson has bought 2 bottles of Patchouli oil from them!

What with businesses being asked to return to work and hand sanitizer Etc to be made available for staff then I'm hoping Creightons will be providing! I'm happy to hold and been in since 45p! Might even see some semblance of a Divi where most others have been cut? Here's hoping!

I can see that there may be something on the horizon. Last year´s notification of results on the 17th May gave a good indication of the news to come in June. IMO if we se the same this year especially with the tips wéve had then maybe this will be enough to push it upwards prior to the actual results.

paulof2- quite right, results due 30th June. This morning's share price movements a prime example of the sort of volatility you can expect with this stock for now.

Very true. I’ll be keeping an eye on this for now I think. The results I believe are in June? So have a while yet to make up my mind. All the best

paulof2- no bother- it's good for me to reassess my own reasons for investing now and then! Quite understand and share your concerns regarding IC hype, as it does seem that the flock- apt use of word, I feel- leaving to find more excitement elsewhere can cause the share price to drift a little as you say. I decided to look beyond the IC hype and it's effect on SP, for the most part because I find the fundamentals of CRL very appealing and believe a well run company will endure most market mania over the longer term. If I were considering but had not yet invested in CRL, I'd consider my investment time frame carefully. You might need a longer view on CRL to ride out volatility.

Thanks investor for that insight, much appreciated. I think in some strange way it is the latter point which is putting me off. I’m not sure if it is only holding these prices because of its feature in IC and once the investors who have blindly followed and probably just bought all the shares on the list get bored and start selling this could go south.

paulof2- I certainly agree that there will be more to be made elsewhere, however, as to where that might be is a difficult question! I’m quite comfortable in the knowledge that I’ll never have made the perfect investment and will gladly settle for a good one. CRL, I believe, may well prove to be a very good one. A healthy balance sheet and consistent growth tempted me, but it was CRL’s more recent acquisitions, consequent broadening of product ranges and expansion of production facilities that particularly interested me. CRL has just this spring launched new product ranges in major supermarkets both in the UK and abroad, which looks set to further increase growth in both domestic sales and exports this year. The market for household and cosmetic products tends to hold up well during difficult times and has in the past gained where others have floundered. I consider the sector a safer option during an economic downturn and at this point in time, believe it is undervalued generally speaking. Factor in the added opportunity presented by current increased demand for sanitants and it looks as if CRL will have a better year than most. Of course, that amounts to little more than my thoughts, though will perhaps give you an insight into why other investors might have confidence in CRL. Also, worth noting CRL is one of the IC ‘Bargain Shares’ picks for 2020, which tends to draw some attention.

Hmm wish I had stumbled across this at sub 40 a month or so ago. Does look like it has some potential but at 47 can’t help but think there are many other shares out there with greater potential upside. Might make a small punt but not sure why everyone else is so confident about it? My issue is that Coronavirus will undoubtedly have impacts on other aspects of the business but fair enough sanitiser will have offset some of the impacts but I just find it hard to anticipate a rise here. Even the global leaders in consumer products like these have seen their share prices suffer and yet this to its credit has held out well but not sure there is upside above that, perhaps should just be happy with it at least holding its price.

chirpychips- I believe you're right; the enormity of the situation hasn't yet dawned on many of us (myself included, as I simply can't believe what is happening sometimes). I think the CRL share price will head down further yet until results are published, at which point I would expect a rise of the sort we'd be gutted to miss.

Well you could easily be right. The general market may well tank down again when recovery reality starts to set in and people realise they are not just going to wake up and go to work, have a load of beers in the pub with their mates and home via a team curry at the Bengali.
