I have bought several 5kg packs of chicken and always been thoroughly satisfied.

I thought the boot prints and sawdust added bite to their budget priced chicken fillet range.

Never mind Crawshaws - I would not eat 95% of the meat sold in Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury - too low quality and often largely tasteless compared to the produce offered at speciality butchers. We have a local, award winning specialist butcher that offers superb tasting meat of a much higher quality for surprisingly little more than the supermarkets charge for similar cuts. If you cook your own food today it has never been cheaper to buy high quality meat and fish - particularly when compared to a family eating out at McDonalds or any mid range restaurant.

This is what happens when a small local Yorkshire family business that had been successful for years is taken over/intoxicated by financial advisers corporate brokers who installs the the Rose and the Noel's of this world to keep the ii'S who accept to take placing shares happy! A great family business killed by the metro elite again!

The board hired that CEO even though he had a black mark on him over expenses claims, they would've heard his business case for the group - which would've included the massive expansion plans - they probably thought, oooh we can be the next Lidl, they are to blame, they hired him and clearly were incompetent themselves. There are also local level problems such as quality and hygiene concerns that show the management were not competent with running the stores that they had.

Playful 600 staff are all alright taking a wage each week I've been past stores recently and even seen them shut before they should be for me it's the staffs fault they are in this mess I bought a step barm 3 days ago it was like eating a brick and that was just the bread trust me they only have themselves to looks at before looking everywhere else

I wouldn’t fault the new guy it was a hot potato from day one and if I thought he was not trying I’d have said so. It was absolutely and without question Noels fault for opening stores too fast its that simple, so before anyone comes back and groans about me bashing Noel ceaselessly just think of our 600 staff going to sleep tonight not knowing if they have a job tomorrow. Taking 13 days to fix the oven at barnsley(?) did it for me; this was a few weeks into the new CEOs job and he should have been all over that, instead he did a voice over on an internal advert! The high street shops were touted as profitable from day one; NC has to take the brunt of the criticism for the demise here.

Ideally a deal involving Spar and McKenzie Meats would provide good stability and job security. Thankfully our website is back online now. For folk down south tonight's TV report move on to 15 mins: hTTps://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bpthpq/look-north-yorkshire-evening-news-31102018#

Good God, could you imagine eating any sandwiches made by 2S, probably out of date and booted around the floor a few times, barf.

Perhaps Spar could be the white knight that steps in to save the jobs here. I don't think 2S are in the market to buy anything as they keep selling assets including their sandwich business Manton Wood that was sold today.

Then this one. august 2018 I have said for a long time it really would not surprise me that if Craw did go into admin, (and i don't see that just yet), to see McKenzie Meats cherry pick the original stores and then you would have in everything but name a crawshaws reborn before Lidl spiv took over!

Just looked at my last post here -guess what it highlights- the very thing that killed them?????????? s1zematters 26 Sep '18 - 07:45 - 6773 of 6875 Edit 0 0 0 very nice movement so far, this strategy looks in-depth well thought out and a breath of fresh air! Unsure how 3 million cash will pull it all off but at least Jim is fighting here. -------------------------------------------------- Then the one after a few after that! s1zematters - 31 Aug 2018 - 09:37:17 - 6679 of 6877 The obvious escape route would be to retreat to the legacy pre expansion plan profitable store numbers and keep the factory stores. The problem with this is how can this escape of stores closures be done at a cost that does not sink the cash to dangerously low levels? I remain open-minded on Craws chances but would not be buying back in till the mist clears.

Unbelievable I remember opening the factory shop at Hellaby under Mr Boyd we actually had to phone upstairs so the office staff could act as security guards because it was that crazy busy.
