I agree, it's touch and go at best whether this sees out another year unless there is a substantial turnaround in the business.

Sid are you serious?

Also give him a chance it’s only been a few weeks he’s been in office. And for some of that time Lidl guy still Physically in the office no doubt being opposed to change. I think give JV a chance and we will see 20p within 12 months.

The JV has been running for 16 months.
We have just had a great Summer of BBq `s.

Please tell me what they can do to turn this round?

The expenses thing agree it’s a positive, and yes was just a way of easing someone out. For the size of business Craw is he’s perfect lidl man was out of his depth having only understood how billion £ business work.

Exactly. I see this expense fiddling as a positive...and probably just a means of easing someone out.

most of the assets you talk about are intangibles.
I set out earlier in the year my detailed itemised estimate of tangible assets that worked out at of 9p a share. At that time the share price was 3p, it went to 11p in the three weeks following and I sold as stated here at the time at 9p.
Tangible assets are now lower due to the cash burn since then but are still way above the share price today.

so this so called fiddling was known then after all.Like I said, if true, one mistake should be a learning for him and things move forward in a fresh way and he put this behind him for the sake of the company and staff who rely on him to pay their mortgage and bills

the expense fiddling thing was known on day one of his Crawshaw life - not news.
Was in the appointment RNS !!
"James (Jim) Russell Viggars, aged 50, left ASDA in 2015. His departure from ASDA was referenced in an article by The Grocer citing his dismissal for gross misconduct in connection with breaches of Walmart's expenses policies."

Come on! out of curiousty when the CEO starts, it would be very obvious to put in the search engine Asda , Jim Viggars, and there you have it on the intranet....for the chairman recruiting a ceo surely hr do the simple basic background checks???
If ASDA is true, I believe everyone is entitled to one mistake and a fresh start

I have already seen this article the 1st month he started with Crawshaws, don't tell me you never did a google search of him when he started!! I thought this was common knowledge, I have not said anything because of the sensitivities.

Bit of light research.....

Jim McCarthy, Chairman of Crawshaw, said:
“I am pleased to welcome Jim and Nick to Crawshaw. They both have clear commercial acumen and
careers which are steeped in the industry. I am confident that their combined expertise, experience
and outlook will help drive the Group forward.”

I agree but a market listing is expensive and cannot work
The way and only way is to pre pack to get rid of the bad leases.

Can someone ADD up how much CASH this company has had and gone though?

That is an excellent summary of the situation. Forgot the idea that people no longer eat meat -there is an offering which appeals to a broad range of customers. Whoever got the present leases in place is an absolute mug. You can literally write your own terms on high st rents. Have a look at 'Scotch Meats' near where I live in south London. Seems to do good business. Rich ladies buying expensive joints of meat for Sunday roast/workmen buying either sandwiches made up to order (full of meat)or pies or lazy people like me buying a cooked roast chicken for a fiver..probably cheaper in Maltby!

Hope the ceo reads this as there is much good advice as to what needs to be done at the micro level to improve matters.
